Like a beacon of light beckoning in the night stands 1-Alfaro, the latest scenic rooftop dining spot in Singapore where you get to dine in a glasshouse and enjoy stunning sea and sunset views. 1-Alfaro is the newest F&B venture by the renowned 1-Group, and is perched 34 stories high atop the Labrador Tower.

Like all of 1-Groups concepts that centre around scenic spots and views galore, 1-Alfaro boasts panoramic sky-high views of the city—it’s the perfect vantage point to enjoy the sunset, and soak in the endless sea views that surround the restaurant. The space is also great for hosting events like parties or weddings. There’s 2 concepts within 1-Alfaro to take you from day to night: La Torre is the main restaurant, while La Luna is a bar.

Cannelloni Della Nonna, $26

House-Made Pinwheel Pasta, $22

Tagliatelle, $28
The main restaurant is housed in an indoor glasshouse with floor-to-ceiling windows that offer a perfect view outside. The menu at La Torre is created by MONTI, so you can expect classic and homey Italian dishes but with a modern touch. Food items are pretty affordable, with mains starting from $13. The $13 mains include Fettuccine Flat Egg Pasta ($13/half portion), La Torre’s Pan Roasted Lasagna ($13/half portion) and Cannelloni Della Nonna ($13/half portion). They’re known for their pasta dishes, and we particularly enjoyed the Cannelloni Della Nonna ($26) which we’re told is a recipe from the chef’s grandma: pasta stuffed with ricotta cheese, spinach and house-made tomato sauce. House-Made Pinwheel Pasta ($22) is also a unique offering, and is kind of like a giant ravioli arranged in a long spiral to resemble a “pinwheel”.

USDA Prime Heritage Linz Ribeye on the bone ‘Costata’, $148

Meat lovers can also order charcoal-grilled items like the massive USDA Prime Heritage Linz Ribeye on the bone ‘Costata’ ($148), which features a 600g ribeye. While there’s nothing novel about this dish—it’s essentially a steak—it’s executed well and roasted to a perfectly tender medium-rare. The portion size is also pretty big, so it’s ideal for sharing.

La Torre’s Fried Lasagna, $16

La Torre’s House-Made Burrata Gelato with Rosemary Tuile, $17
Don’t overlook their small plates either: La Torre’s Fried Lasagna ($16) is one of our favourites, cubed pieces of beef lasagna that have been deep-fried in batter and dipped in a tangy tomato sauce. Their Fried Wagyu Fat Potatoes ($16) are also a classic—garlicky, herby and oh-so crispy. Finish off with handcrafted desserts like the La Torre’s House-Made Burrata Gelato with Rosemary Tuile ($17), which was ultra creamy and had a nice textural contrast with the crispy and fragrant rosemary tuile.

Cocktail Jug, $40
From the bar, you can also enjoy a unique DIY experience with their Cocktail Jugs ($40) that are made for sharing. Each jug comes with an assortment of various garnishes, which you can add and customise your drink however you like. They’ve also got other signature cocktails from just $16, housepour wines, beer and more.

If you’re looking for a spot to enjoy some drinks after work, or need a celebratory venue 1-Alfaro should definitely be on your radar. We like how unlike other scenic dining spots that are usually outdoors, 1-Alfaro offers gorgeous sea and sunset views from the comfort of an indoor glasshouse. 1-Alfaro’s food prices are also very accessible, and we appreciate how some of their pastas come in half portions from a friendly $13 per plate—great for small eaters or if you want to try multiple dishes. While you’ll get the best views when you dine at around sunset, the restaurant has a different kind of charm once night falls, with all the twinkling lights from the city surrounding the place.
