Get both your blind box and dessert fix at this new blind box café concept in Singapore, with an in-house café located right in the store! Pop Play Planet is the latest blind box store to open in Singapore, with their first flagship outlet located at 313@Somerset; and now they’ve opened a second Pop Play Planet Café, a 2-in-1 retail store and dining experience all in one.
The new Pop Play Planet Café is located at Jewel Changi Airport, and features a sleek futuristic-inspired silver theme. The café itself has a couple of tables for dine-in, and they serve a variety of items from desserts, snow ice, savoury mains, ice cream and drinks. Prices for food items at the café start from $5.

Our favourites from the menu has definitely got to be their snow ice series: each one has a whimsical theme and is decorated with adorable toppings. We tried the refreshing Coconut Summer Snow Ice ($18) and Purple Taro Snow Ice ($18); the former came served in a coconut husk-shaped bowl and is topped with a refreshing popsicle, while the latter was made with taro-flavoured shaved ice and topped with coquette-inspired toppings. Taste-wise, we enjoyed the milkiness of the soft, finely-shaved ice, and the flavour of the ice itself was surprisingly quite prominent (at least for the taro one we tried).

For more cute dessert options, you can go for their ice cream scoops. There are 16 flavours to choose from: like Dubai Chocolate, Chrysanthemum Cacao Nibs, Cotton Candy Bubblegum, Earl Grey Lavender, Banana Pudding and more. You can even request for them to make a cute character face on your ice cream scoop at no extra charge; subject to availability, while stocks last. Some of their drinks even come topped with an adorable bear-shaped ice, like the Mango Passion Fruit ($8) and Coconut Matcha ($8).

Chicken Bolognese Penne, $12
They’ve got a couple of savoury mains you can choose from, all priced at $12. Some of the options include Tom Yum Fried Rice ($12), Chicken Bolognese Penne ($12), Nyonya Curry Chicken Rice ($12) and more. While the taste of the mains were decent and filling enough, we felt that the overall presentation could be improved. We would definitely recommend skipping the mains and going straight for their desserts instead.
Pop Play Planet Café is one of the few blind box café concepts in Singapore, and is probably the first dessert-centric blind box café experience where you can shop for your favourite blind box toys and enjoy handcrafted sweets all under one roof. The retail store itself is an open concept, and is home to over 6000 unique items and over 50 IPs. They’ve got anything from blind boxes, plushies, keychains, gachapon toys, collectible cards, stationery, mega figurines, accessories and more.
Prices for items start from just $1 each, and you’ll be able to shop some of your favourite characters like Pokémon, Sanrio, Mofusand, Miffy, Smiski, Butterbear, Maltese, Mr. Pa, Lulu the Pig, Crayon Shin-Chan, Stitch, Harry Potter, One Piece, Spy x Family and many more.
