SCENIC BEACHSIDE 80 CENT THAI BOAT NOODLE & MOOKATA “FLOATING” RESTAURANT BY BKK BISTRO & BAR WITH PANORAMIC SUNSET VIEWS!

East side best side: there’s a new beachside “floating” restaurant in Singapore, with some of the most stunning sunset and sea views, plus 80 cent boat noodles! The popular BKK Bistro & Bar has just opened a new al fresco location within Changi Beach Club; it’s a standalone spot with panoramic dining areas that “float” directly above the waterfront, so you get a vantage view of the sea as you dine.

Assorted Boat Noodles, $0.80

Supersize Beef Noodle, $20.80

Their most popular menu item, the 80-cent Thai Boat Noodles, are definitely a must order. You can get them in various options: from pork, beef slices, seafood and more, with a classic herb-infused beef broth or tom yum soup to choose from. The 80-cent boat noodles definitely hit the spot, but if the mini-sized portions aren’t enough to satiate you, they’ve also got a jumbo-sized Supersize Noodle ($20.80) option in the same flavour options.

Jumbo Pong Prawn Curry, $8.80

Tomyum Wing Stick, $8.80

Thai Crispy Chicken Skin with Salted Egg, $8.80

They’ve also got plenty of a la carte dishes like the Jumbo Pong Prawn Curry ($8.80), which came with XL-sized, plump prawns tossed in a thick and flavourful spicy curry sauce. Other snacks to share include the Tomyum Wing Stick ($8.80), which had good flavour but pretty small in size and not very meaty; or the Thai Crispy Chicken Skin with Salted Egg ($8.80) which stayed crispy even coated in all the salted egg sauce.

You can also order mookata, with ingredients starting from just $1.80 each. They’ve got a variety of seafood and meat options, and they were quite generous with the meat portions too. Some of the mookata ingredients you can order include Pork Belly ($2.80), Garlic Beef Slices ($3.80), Black Pepper Pork Slice ($1.80), Vegetable Basket ($5.80), Crayfish ($8.80), Lala Clams ($3.80) and more. The feeling of eating piping hot mookata as the sun sets and with the cool sea breeze blowing? Talk about total vibes.

Now would we travel all the way to the East just for this? Probably not, unless we were driving in. If you’re just looking for a fix for Thai food cravings, there’s probably plenty of similar and more accessible spots in Singapore. But if you’re in the mood for some beautiful sunset views while you dine, this is a place you can consider.
