It’s only the first month of 2026 and Changi Airport is already abuzz: you can now catch an exclusive glimpse of what the new upcoming T5 at Changi Airport just might look like, once it opens in around the mid-2030s. The T5 In the Making exhibition is opening from 6th January 2026, and there are 5 different zones you can explore in the exhibition; with elements that are interactive, immersive and educational.

Before entering the exhibition area, visitors will be invited to do a “check-in” via self-serve kiosks—just like you would if you’re taking an actual flight. Each person will have their own personalised “boarding pass” that’s printed with their registered name, and this pass will be used throughout the exhibition to collect exclusive embossed stamps at each zone.
Zone 1: Another Bold Chapter

Taking centrestage at this zone is a giant 2.7-metre globe with 360-degree digital animations. These graphics tell the story of why another terminal is a necessary next step for Singapore, and how the new T5 will help Singapore further expand its status as a global air hub, and cope with the rising travel demands.
Zone 2: Built on Firm Foundations

Before looking to the future, take a step (or a couple steps) back to Changi Airport’s humble roots. From Terminals 1 through 4, see how the airport’s landscape has changed and evolved through the decades.
Zone 3: From Vision to Reality

This zone is an immersive screening that showcases the sheer scale and magnitude of the T5 endeavour. Through realistic 3D renderings and artist impressions, you’ll get a clearer picture of how the final T5 is projected to look and feel like. Some highlights shown in the film include the mega terminal’s unique hourglass shape, one-of-a-kind architecture and stunning roof leaves to let in the natural sunlight. Note that there is some smoke and strobe-like effects in this zone.
Zone 4: Cool Tech Warm Touch

Here’s where you get a peek at some of the cool technologies Changi plans to implement for the new terminal. Some of the new advancements include the addition of humanoid robots for assistance and automated machine-led baggage handling.

Accessibility will also be improved, especially for the elderly and persons with disabilities—through the use of mobility devices equipped with smart navigation for seamless transport and travel within the terminal. The new terminal will also make use of a new AI-powered Aircraft 360 predictive alert system that’ll improve flight schedules, prevent clashes and reduce delays.
Zone 5: Come Imagine with T5

This is a more interactive zone, where you get to play around and “create” your ideal T5 via a digital mural. Use the screens to pick your 3 favourite elements—like wellness, art, shopping, entertainment and more—and watch your vision come to digital life onscreen.

This zone is also where you can shop some exclusive merchandise items featuring Changi Airport’s mascot, Buddy the Bear, from the retail vending machines. Prices for items start from $4, and they’ve got Buddy Bear-themed keychains, pins, plush toys and pouches.

The T5 In the Making exhibition is open to the public from 6th January 2026, and entrance is free. You can pre-register before your visit online here. Note that as Changi Airport’s T5 continues to be in the works until its completion sometime in the mid-2030s, some of the elements showcased during the exhibition might be subject to further changes.
