A Pokémon attraction at Universal Studios Singapore? This idea might not seem so far off now: in celebration of Pokémon’s 30th anniversary this year, something truly huge is in store for Pokémon fans all around the world. Universal Studios has just inked a new deal with The Pokémon Company to bring more “immersive, world-class Pokémon experiences” on a global scale.

This new large-scale global expansion plan is said to start in Universal Studios Japan, with other Universal Studios parks around the world to follow suit. That means that we could very well be seeing Pikachu coming to our very own Universal Studios Singapore (USS) too. Though the exact details of what this new partnership might entail are still under wraps for now, it seems they’re looking at something much bigger than just parades and character shows like they’ve done in the past.

Perhaps we can expect to see even Pokémon-themed attractions, rides and even entire lands at Universal Studios parks too. And as for whether an official Pokémon experience will be coming to Singapore in the near future—only time will tell. After all, we’re already getting a Super Nintendo World, why not add Pokémon to the mix too? For more details on the upcoming Universal Studios Japan x Pokémon experiences, see here.
