What makes Miraku stand out is their impeccable attention to detail: from the attentive service to the unique aspects of the meal itself—like smooth sake served in spinning cups, pressed flower serving plates and more. Miraku’s omakase also spotlights premium and rare ingredients you might not come across often: seasonal sea bream milt, freshly-shaved Hokkaido white wasabi, see-through baby conger eel, firefly squid and much more.

We had the Miraku Premium Omakase ($228++ per person) that comes with 10 courses in all:

  • 3 types of House Appetisers
  • 2 types of Seasonal Appetisers
  • Seasonal Warm Dish
  • 2 types of Sashimi
  • Chutoro with Egg Yolk Sauce
  • A4 Wagyu Sukiyaki
  • 7 types of Sushi
  • Uni Ikura Bowl
  • Soup Dessert

Shiromi Tart (Marinated White Fish) on Homemade Rice Cracker

Naga Ochi Tart (Fatty Tuna) with Caviar on Beetroot Cracker

Homemade Wagyu Beef Croquette

Tsubogai (Whelk) with Sea Grapes

Hokkaido Kegani (Hairy crab) with Okra (Lady’s Finger)

The first trio of House Appetisers were already a visual treat: served on a clear plate decorated with pressed spring florals to reflect the ingredients featured in each dish. While the Shiromi Tart and Naga Ochi Tart successfully whetted our appetite, our favourite was definitely the warm Wagyu Beef Croquette, a bite that left us wanting seconds.

Tai Shirako Tempura (Sea Bream Milt)

Sawara (Spanish Mackerel); Kinmedai (Red Snapper)

Chutoro with Egg Yolk Sauce & White Wasabi

Adventurous eaters and lovers of fish milt—that’s sperm—will be excited to try the Tai Shirako Tempura (Sea Bream Milt) that’s currently in season and served as a tempura. If it’s your first time trying the delicacy, this tempura-ed milt is a safe, beginner-friendly option instead of the usual boiled/poached milt. The sea bream milt is ultra soft and creamy, almost like silken tofu but with an added richness, and the soft texture is balanced by the light and crisp batter—definitely an interesting dish to try.

Hokkaido A4 Wagyu Sukiyaki

Isaki (Chicken Grunt)

Ishidai (Knife Jaw)

Hiramasa (Yellowtail Amberjack)

Shiro Ebi (White Shrimp)

Kuromutsu (Black Perch)

Uni Temaki

One of the highlights of the meal has got to be Miraku’s signature hot dish, the Hokkaido A4 Wagyu Sukiyaki, featuring slices of intensely marbled A4 beef that are gently simmered à la minute in a umami-laden sukiyaki broth. The perfectly cooked beef slices are then draped atop a sous vide egg for a rich, melt-in-your-mouth texture. You’ll get to taste the beef’s natural taste and tenderness, something beef lovers are sure to appreciate.

Toro Maki

Castella Tamago

From the sushi course, one standout has got to be the Toro Maki, a luxuriously chunky maki roll stuffed with 3 kinds of tuna (Akami, Chutoro, Otoro) and marinated egg yolks. The only way to describe this one bite is: ultra rich. If tuna is your favourite fish, you’ll be in for a treat with the fatty cuts of various toro in this roll; but despite all that richness, all the flavours blended together perfectly, rounded out by the tartness of the housemade vinegars and wasabi. We were also treated to an extra item: Miraku’s signature Castella Tamago. This is unlike your regular tamagoyaki: it’s uber light and fluffy with a soufflé-like texture resembling the classic Japanese castella cake that’s both savoury and sweet.

Uni Ikura Bowl

White Miso Soup

Japanese Musk Melon; Strawberry Wine Jelly

Aside from the Uni Temaki, you’ll also get a generous serving of more uni in the Uni Ikura Bowl, and by this point we were pretty much stuffed. We finished the meal with a comforting White Miso Soup and desserts of Musk Melon and Strawberry Wine Jelly.

Miraku’s omakase checks all the boxes for refined elegance in presentation, inventive dishes, fresh seafood and even rare ingredients—everything you want in a premium omakase experience. For the amount of food you’re getting, you won’t be left hungry, which makes Miraku more value-for-money than some other luxe omakase restaurants out there. If you’re looking for an unique omakase spot with great service, a warm ambience and an innovative meal that’ll leave you satisfied, you know where to go.
