The NYE countdown is back at The Float @ Marina Bay this year, with an explosive display of fireworks happening for the first time in 2 years! Since this is the first NYE firework display since the pandemic, you can expect crowds to be flocking towards the Marina area to catch a glimpse of the festivities. 1. Merlion Park at Marina Bay Sands
A popular tourist attraction featuring the iconic Merlion, this open-air spot at the Marina Bay Sands Promontory is perched by the river and offers prime views of the fireworks and skyline with minimal obstruction. This place is sure to attract tons of crowds, so make sure to snag your seat along the steps by the waterfront as early as possible!

2. The Helix Bridge
Located in very close proximity to The Float itself, The Helix is probably one of the best places to be if you’re looking to catch the fireworks up close. Since the bridge itself is pretty long, you can also take a leisurely walk across the river and enjoy the scenic waterfront views while waiting for the countdown to begin. Naturally, with such stunning front-row views of the countdown, you can expect the bridge to get extremely packed once it’s nearing showtime, so avoid this spot if you wish to steer clear from the crowds.Â

3. Marina Bay Sands Boardwalk
On a regular day, the spacious outdoor boardwalk surrounding The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands makes for a great spot to watch the sunset and waterfront, and also to catch the nearby fireworks during the NYE festivities. Since the boardwalk lines the entire Marina Bay waterfront, there’s plenty of space for everyone, and also a couple of restaurants and bars that overlook the skyline as well.

4. The Lawn @ Marina Bay
This is yet another top spot to be at to catch the fireworks and countdown festivities in Marina Bay. Head to the sprawling Lawn area with a mat and all your picnic goodies and make a night out of it with good food, drinks and company! You can also head to The Promontory @ Marina Bay located just a short walk away for pretty good views of the fireworks.

5. Marina Barrage
Marina Barrage’s rooftop garden is not only a popular spot for picnics and kite-flying, but also offers a clear view of the sky and overlooks the entire Marina Bay skyline, so you’ll be able to catch some pretty stunning views of both the sunset and fireworks here. 6. Bay East Garden at Gardens by the Bay
While the Flower and Cloud Domes are paid attractions, the rest of the areas at Gardens by the Bay are free grounds to explore, including the Bay East Garden that stretches along the waterfront, giving you front-row views of the skyline and the fireworks. Picnic benches along the gardens are limited, but feel free to bring along mats and grab a spot on the grass!

11. Mount Faber Peak
Home to Singapore’s only hilltop and cable car destination, Mount Faber Peak offers breathtaking bird’s eye views of the city once you reach the top. Enjoy the scenic views of the lush greenery as you make your way up to the peak to catch the fireworks from a distance. The ~15-minute walk/hike up to the top might be arduous for some, but the views at the top will definitely be worth the effort! 13. Our Tampines Hub
Our Tampines Hub (OTH) will be having a countdown event of their own, dubbed ‘Countdown To Magical Moments’, complete with a live show, performances, and fireworks! From 31st December 2022 till 2nd January 2023, you can look forward to exciting drum performances, juggling and fire acts, a skating rink, carnival with rides and games, electric go-karting, laser tag and more! All these activities plus the fireworks display will be available for the public to enjoy for free! 14. Singapore Sports Hub
If you’re looking for a spot that’s far away from the bustling crowd, head over to the Singapore Sports Hub, a lesser known area that’ll give you a peek at the fireworks from a distance. Don’t expect amazing, up-close views of the festivities, but a least you’ll get to catch a glimpse of the display without having to jostle with throngs of people.Â

If you can’t be bothered to leave your house on New Year’s Eve but still want a taste of the festivities, we’ve gotchu. There will be fireworks at 5 heartland neighbourhoods, namely: Boon Lay (carpark behind Savoy Theatre), Punggol (across One Punggol), Keat Hong (309 Choa Chu Kang Avenue 4), Our Tampines Hub (Town Square) and MacPherson (behind MacPherson CC). Make your way to these locations before the clock strikes 12 to catch the year-end fireworks!
