5 New Cafes in Bangkok For Your Dessert and Instagram Feed Needs

Besides shopping, Bangkok’s also a top destination for Singaporeans when it comes to eating. But away from the Chatuchak and mango sticky rice galore, Bangkok’s also famous for their cafe-hopping scene. Below, we suss out the best (and most IG-worthy) newly opened cafes in the capital of Thailand to check out.

1. Tropi Hoola

Ditch the city life at Tropi Hoola, because at this pool-party themed cafe, it’s all about chilling over crepes and Instagrammable swings. There’s no actual pool, but there’s a pretend one with inflatable floats that’s good enough to take tons of pictures for the ‘gram. Apart from homemade crepes, Tropi Hoola also offers Burnt Creme Brulee, Japanese Cheese Cake, Butter Crumble and smoothies. For real though, the aesthetic at this cafe is so on point, leaving without pictures is actually a sin.

2. Midnight Madness

At Midnight Madness, there’s no such thing as too much chocolate, because this cocoa-only cafe is dedicated to serving premium ready-to-drink chocolate. So specialised is this chocolate bar that they only have five items on their menu, including Midnight Madness, their signature drink which is blended with authentic dark chocolate from France; Femme Fatale, a fine chocolate and raspberry puree mix; and Before Sunrise, a dark chocolate number with refreshing yuzu. The cafe sticks to a sleek and all-black theme too, which suddenly makes drinking a cup of hot cocoa all the more attractive. Check out their packaging which can be passed off as liquor bottles too!

For those who love a Cold Brew, be sure to take a post-lunch pit stop at BrewJay, a chic coffee shop located within Ari, Bangkok’s new hippest neighbourhood. This craft drink store aims to change the way we consume caffeine: all drinks contain their signature Cold Brew beverage as a base and mixed with cocktail-inspired ingredients like pineapple and honey. Called ‘cofftails’, all drinks at BrewJay are non-alcoholic. But if you’re a no-frills purist, just sticking to their Cold Brew (180 baht) is enough. Despite its hole-in-the-wall location, you won’t miss out on BrewJay due to its eye-catching minimalist design.

We love pancakes — especially if they’re fluffy souffle pancakes! Fuu is just the place for it. Find three decadent layers of soft pancakes stacked together and topped with syrup, ice cream and every other sweet thing you can think of. All ingredients are delivered directly from Chiang Mai and the pancakes are freshly whipped everyday as well! If you’re heading there during the festive season, don’t miss out on Strawberry White Christmas (245 baht), a festive special layered with strawberries. Furthermore, the cool and warm tones of the cafe make for gorgeous photo taking backdrops!

At this takeaway cafe, find the freshest bakes everyday — one step in and you’ll immediately smell the aroma of bread. Everything is prepared without chemicals or preservatives and you can find an assortment of pastries from white loaves to flourless chocolate cakes. We heard the Cocoa Bun (70 baht), filled with rich cocoa is a must-try!
