Cai fan…but make it brunch? This popular café chain in Singapore has just launched a new build-your-own (BYO) breakfast and lunch concept, where you can pick your favourite items and create your bowl from $9.90.
Craftsmen Coffee has just launched a new Build Your Own Bowl concept for both lunch and dinner. There’s over 60 items available to choose from, and from 11am onwards, the goods will be displayed on the counter, “cai fan”-style, so you can pick and choose your favourites. If you see something you like, just grab an order sheet and check off the options before handing it to the staff, who will assemble your bowl fresh to-order.
Prices start from $9.90 for breakfast, and $11.50 for lunch; and you can pick from an assortment of freshly prepared pasta, salads, protein, veggies and toppings. The ingredients available are fixed each day, but they’ve got a wide enough variety of choices available that you’ll probably be spoilt for choice. Some of the options you can pick from include items like House Pasta, Quinoa, Baked Chicken Thigh, Smoked Salmon, Sautéed Mushrooms, Honey Carrots, Cajun Chickpeas, Feta Cheese and more.

Petite Lunch Bowl, $11.50
We felt that the portion size for the $9.90 Light breakfast bowl (4 items) was quite small, so if you require something more filling, their lunch bowls might be more satisfying. Their $11.50 Petite lunch bowl is already an upgrade in portion size, and would make for a pretty hearty and nutritious meal. Don’t expect flavours that are super tasty or mind-blowing here, think more natural and clean-tasting flavours instead as the items are pretty minimally seasoned too.
