Camping sounds all fun and games, until you have to deal with the heat of the great outdoors. Not to mention all the unwanted guests that’ll be joining you in the wild (read: bugs). Thankfully, as the ESCAPE 城市.逃离, a new camping-inspired BBQ bar, you won’t have to worry about all the hard stuff.
Enjoy the lush camping vibes in ESCAPE’s forest-themed indoor space, complete with artificial greenery, camping chairs and tables, winding paths with “gravel” and even “burning campfires” (glowing red lights made to resemble a crackling fire) to complete the experience!
To mimic the romantic nighttime ambience, there are also hanging lights from the ceiling that resemble twinkling stars—very Avatar-esque indeed. There’s also a luminescent moon as a backdrop for all your moody photo ops.
The menu itself is quite extensive, and also very affordable, with BBQ skewers starting from just $1.50! BBQ skewer options include Grilled Beef ($2), Roast Pork with Enoki Mushroom ($2.50), Grilled Sotong ($3.60), Grilled Fresh Prawn ($2.50), Grilled Corn ($1.50) and more. You’ll also be given a mini “grill” so you can heat the skewers up to your liking—don’t bet on the grill being very strong though.
Other items include various stir-fried and cold dishes, as well as mains. These are served in mess tins for that authentic camping feel. Highlights include Smacked Cucumber ($8), Steamed Chicken in Chilli Sauce ($12), Garlic Pepper Bacon ($23), Dried Pork Intestines ($21), Cumin Lamb ($19.80) and Salt & Pepper Shrimp ($20.80), just to name a few.
What’s camping without some booze? ESCAPE has plenty of alcohol options to suit your fancy. From beer towers, wines, housepour spirits, cocktails and soju. To top it all off, there will even be live music on selected nights; and if you’re game to sing in public, you can also take advantage of their free karaoke machine!
