Live like a Cool Millennial with the IKEA x Virgil Abloh home collection, MARKERAD

There was a time where shirts printed with IKEA’s logo were on almost every young adult’s wishlist. Here’s the next big thing — rugs in the design of IKEA receipts. That’s just one of the many items from Off-White designer Virgil Abloh’s collection with the Swedish furniture retailer.

Titled MARKERAD, the collection is targeted at fashion conscious millennials who appreciate street culture and Instagrammable ware. It also hopes to help those moving into their first home make a statement. And make a statement it is, with door steps attached to the legs of chairs just an example of the quirky 15-piece assemblage.

Other items include the words “WET GRASS” in quotation marks à la true Abloh style on a mat, an all-white minimalist clock with “TEMPORARY” slapped across, a glass-door cabinet with a red nail as a handle and —wait for it— an LED-lit Mona Lisa wall which also acts as a charging device.

Prices will range from $15 – $200, which is about a fraction of the price of Off-White pieces. So if you’ve always wanted to be fashun — here’s your chance.
The MARKERAD collection will retail in IKEA stores from 31 October. Each customer is strictly limited to a purchase of two products per design and four dining chairs.
