If you missed the last meteor shower in Singapore back in November, you still have 2 more chances to catch the final meteor shower events this December 2025. Both the Geminid and Ursid meteor showers are set to occur this month, and you can catch a glimpse of them with your naked eye—if you’re lucky.

Of the 2 upcoming meteor showers, the first Geminid meteor shower is much stronger, so you’ll probably have a better chance of spotting it as compared to the more low-key Ursid meteor shower. Both showers are possible to view with the naked eye, with no special equipment needed, but visibility is dependent on the weather conditions as well. Spot the meteor showers in Singapore on the following dates:
Geminid Meteor Shower – 13th to 14th December 2025, around 12am
Ursid Meteor Shower – 21st to 22nd December 2025, pre-dawn hours, before sunrise

While equipment is not required for viewing the meteor showers, it’s recommended to find a spot with dark and clear skies for the best viewing, like beaches, reservoirs or open spaces devoid of city lights.
