Natsu – The First Japanese Tempura Kiosk in Singapore is offering 1-for-1 Tendons

Japanese cuisine has really taken the reign in Singapore’s food culture nowadays where almost everytime a new store pops-up, it’s mostly Japanese inspired. New to the scene is Natsu founded by the same people behind Pezzo Pizza. Here they offer a range of affordable a la carte tempuras ($0.80 – $3) and also tempura sets with sides of unique sauces that aims to suit local palates.

For busy bees and snackers, you’ll love the concept of it being a easy take and go counter. The staff is quick to assist you and you’ll have your meal to-go the next minute. The food is definitely not a letdown. The provide a wide range for those looking for either a hearty meal to fill up on or a light snack when you’re on-the-go.
The light batter they use is specially imported from Japan, where it is then coated lightly on the produce and fried at a precise and optimal temperature to achieve the signature cripsy exterior while retaining moisture and taste. Our favourites has to be the chicken tempura ($1.50) and the jumbo prawns ($3). Not only is it great as a snack, but the sweetness of the meat complements the crispy exterior dunked in one of their special sauces.
A la cartes aside, their tempura sets are not one to be missed as well. The Tempura & Onsen set ($5.90), Signature Tendon ($7.90), Chicken Tendon ($7.90) all comes with Japanese pearl rice. Toppings varies for each dish – the onsen set comes with a side of sesame cucumber salad amongst the others, while the Signature boasts a spicy garlic edamame and crispy lotus root chips. If rice isn’t up your alley, you can top-up $1.50 for a side of matcha soba instead.

For a healthier option, grab their Salad & Tempura set ($7.90) which features a leafy green base topped with jumbo prawns, pumpkin, chicken tempura with other sides too. Go big or go home with their special sauces. We recommend the truffle cream sauce where it packs a serious punch with the strong flavours. If you’re feeling adventurous, give their wasabi mayo, salted egg yolk sauce or their soon-to-be launched rendang and satay sauces a go.
