Founded and run by Julie Tay, a French pastry art graduate from Paris, The Flour Department first started off as an online business in 2015. The humble online business soon garnered much attention and support from customers, who loved them for their honest bakes made from scratch with premium and high quality ingredients.

After a long and arduous 7 years of planning, The Flour Department has finally opened its very first brick-and-mortar storefront where customers can get their fresh bakes to-go! The Flour Department specialises in French-style bakes and will offer themed pastries each month. To kick off the first theme of their opening month, they will be doling out local-inspired French pastries according to the theme: “Back To Local’s Taste”.

There are only 3 items in this range of pastries, all of them inspired by and imbued with a distinct local twist: Cheese Fries Choux ($5), Muah Chee Paris Brest ($6.50) and Ondeh Cake-In-A-Tart ($8/$48). For more updates and news on their upcoming themed pastries, keep a lookout on The Flour Department’s Instagram page!
