The recent global pandemic has signaled new trends in our lifestyles. Homes now double up as workspaces, working out in the hall takes precedence over going to the gym and trying out new drinks in the kitchen is the norm — basically, staying in is the modern day’s answer to hanging out. But that doesn’t mean we’re confined to takeout or instant food all the time. Here to offer respite in this difficult period is Private Chef’s Table by Dine Inn, an initiative originally set up by celebrity chef Eric Teo to offer home cooked food to Singaporeans. Dining experiences are usually held at a large house for everyone to come together, but because of the current situation, it will now come to you.
Held across five Saturdays from Apr 4-May 2, this round of private home dining series will pair up with acclaimed wine label Wolf Blass to offer elevated local dishes meant to be paired with wine. It also seeks to challenge wine pairing conventions by showcasing how wines can be matched best with Asian dishes according to their sauces rather than the protein used.
Choose from five different menus, including contemporary peranakan fusion and local fusion. Each menu, which comes complete with wine, wine glasses, tasting mats, cutlery and even floral table decorations, will be delivered to your doorstep by 7.30pm on your chosen Saturday.
If you need ideas on how to set up your table, there’ll be a WhatsApp group set up by the organisers for inspo as well as to explain dish pairings.
