Once a British military airbase that turned into an industrial park for the aerospace sector, Seletar Aerospace Park is now a perfect getaway from the city as the space is looking to include some lifestyle hubs. Gazetted for conservation in 2014, 4 of the 32 black and white colonial bungalows will now house restaurants, namely The Summerhouse, Wheeler’s Estate, Youngs Bar & Restaurant, and Di Wei Teo Chew Restaurant.
The Summerhouse
Inspired by the English countryside, this garden and bar puts on your plate produce from local farms and Malaysian kelongs, as well as their in-house edible garden. The Summerhouse Dining Room & Balcony Bar on the top level features nature-inspired, farm-to-table fare; the ground level houses cafe, patisserie and bar, Wildseed, that serves cocktails, sweet treats, and coffee roasted on site by local micro-roaster Nomad the Gallant.

Wheeler’s Estate
Wheeler’s Yard sister establishment, Wheeler’s Estate is bigger and perhaps even better. Comprising 6 components – Restaurant, Café, Bar, Events, Picnic and Cycling – it is the perfect place for an idyllic bike ride around the Seletar Aerospace Park and exploring the community. The sprawling 2 acre wide space serves a beefed up menu, think: pull apart breads, avocado on sourdough toast, Tomahawk steak served with two sides that can feed up to four people, and a suckling pig feast.

Di Wei Teo Chew Restaurant
If you frequent the Singapore Botanic Gardens, you might know about Di Wei Teo Chew Restaurant at the Canopy. It now has another outlet at the Seletar Aerospace Park, able to house a much larger crowd craving for traditional Teochew food. You can expect the same quality of food as the head chef who has been at the helm of the kitchen at the first Di Wei outlet will be heading over to Seletar.
