If you know of the fan-favourite Standing Sushi Bar, you might also be familiar with Shinsora, the more elevated and refined omakase counterpart of the former establishment. Shinsora is known for their omakase dinner menus, and they have just launched their new omakase menus as well, starting from a pocket-friendly $90!
Shinsora’s modest 10-seater abode is accessible via Standing Sushi Bar’s entrance, through which you’ll be greeted by an intimate L-shaped counter where you’ll be witnessing all the sushi magic in action. It’s not everyday you get to taste sushi made by the hands of world-class chefs; and the sushi at Shinsora is crafted by award-winning sushi chef, Sky Tai—winner of the prestigious World Sushi Cup.
Shinsora serves guests a more modern take on the traditional Edomae-style sushi: with lunch omakase starting from $90 for 9 courses or $200 for 15 courses. This is quite a treat as previously Shinsora only offered their award-winning omakase courses for dinner. You can expect items that reflect the changing seasons, from the fish to even the fruit for dessert—Shinsora sources only the best ingredients at their peak.
Highlights from the current menu (subject to change) include the likes of Hotate, Chutoro, Kamasu, Matsukawa, Aji, Amadai, Shima Ebi, Musk Melon and more. Shinsora serves lunch omakase only on Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday; you can make your reservations here. They also serve an omakase dinner for $250.
