K-Pop stans are no stranger to the concept of idol birthday cafés in Korea, where fans rent out entire cafés for the occasion to celebrate, and decorate it to fit the theme, along with offering merchandise too. Now that Christmas—Jesus’ birthday—is coming up, it seems some Korean cafés are also giving Him the K-idol treatment with a “Jesus Birthday Café” pop-up at various locations in Korea.

This “Jesus Birthday Café” experience started a couple of years back, and the tradition has now become an annual one. Like regular idol birthday café events, the “Jesus Birthday Café” is Jesus-themed, featuring a “generic” Jesus figure; long-haired, bearded and wearing robes. The event is hosted by the Korea CCC (Campus Crusade for Christ) and is meant to be a fun and lighthearted way to introduce Christianity and the spirit of Christmas to all.

The café has drinks served in themed cups, and will also host various games and photobooth sessions for visitors. This unique “Jesus Birthday Café” concept catches the attention of both locals and visitors to Korea, as a more unconventional way to spend the festive season.
