Halloween is just around the corner and many are looking to dress up in their hair-raising costumes for a night of fright and fun. Other than the annual scare fests,  here are some events and activities for an alternative Halloween night – with art, music, food and thrill.

In the recent years, a number of places in Singapore have been abandoned due to the constant sprouting of new facilities and buildings. Some of these abandoned spots have been left vacant since and have yet to be demolished. With eerie atmospheres and ramshackle buildings, the abandoned places are apt for a night of exploration this Halloween.
 
This Halloween, here are some of the spookiest and dilapidated abandoned places in Singapore that you can explore:

2. ‘MONSTER MASH’ Exhibition by Band of Doodlers and Glitch Singapore

Renowned local arts group Band of Doodlers and Glitch Singapore are coming together to present a joint exhibition entitled ‘MONSTER MASH’ this Halloween where fans of art and doodling will get to enjoy this unique Halloween experience. The exhibition features the Band of Doodlers recreating popular characters, ghosts and the supernatural across the white space, and BOD merchandises will also be available for sale at the exhibition.

3. The Local People x Noise Singapore Art Market

Art collective, The Local People, will be collaborating with Noise Singapore as part of their 10 years celebration – bringing you another art market at The Foothills, Fort Canning Park this Halloween. Other than a whole lot of Halloween merchandises as well as art, food, music and retail products from the 80 featured vendors, you can expect all things Halloween on the 31st October 2015 – from a free face and body painting session to a costume competition to free goodie bags by Noise Singapore.

4. Changi Revisited: The Hendon Horrors Mystery Adventure

Set in the vicinity of the infamous Old Changi Hospital, Changi Revisited: The Hendon Horrors takes place at Raintr33 Hotel, a rustic and lush boutique hotel where the old commando barracks once stood. Race against time and experience a mystery adventure this Halloween at the fictitious Hendon Hotel where in teams of four to six, you get to spend 75 minutes investigating strange happenings, collecting evidences and interrogating suspects to solve the crime. 5. ACM After Dark: Escape from Hell by Asian Civilisations Museum

Inspired by the 10 Courts of Hell where different stages of torture and punishment is served for sins that one commits in a lifetime, Asian Civilisations Museum presents ACM After Dark: Escape from Hell – the annual scarefest this Halloween. One can expect to escape through the ‘chamber of torture’ by completing tasks, or to listen to spooky tales and other activities such as craft session, photo booth and face painting.
