Hello Kitty x Sakura Floral Display
Walk through the torii gates and enter a Japanese landscape to admire the ephemeral beauty of cherry blossoms, this season. As the elegant Japanese red-crowned cranes grace the Flower Field this spring alongside pink blossoms of sakura and peach blossoms, this display is presented in conjunction with Hello Kitty, thus marking the super kawaii character’s first-ever special appearance at the Flower Dome.
Starting 1st March 2021, guests are invited to stroll alongside Hello Kitty as she takes you on her ideal flower viewing itinerary, with innumerable picturesque spots to stop at along the way. Open from 9am to 9pm daily, the Hello Kitty x Sakura Floral Display will include an outdoor tea ceremony, and incorporate the Japanese art of fabric wrapping known as furoshiki.

SeptFest 2021: In The Margins
Upon announcing plans of a potentially bittersweet departure from Armenian Street, The Substation which was founded in 1990 by Kuo Pao Kun, and regarded the first building under the National Arts Council’s “Arts Housing Scheme”, will host its annual arts festival SeptFest, for the last time, after a six-year hiatus.
Held every September in commemoration of the venue’s long standing impact on Singaporean Arts and Culture, the month-long festival was initially scheduled for a comeback in September 2020 but later postponed due to an unprecedented global health crisis. Finally returning for its 22nd edition from 4th to 28th March 2021, the event will encompass a total of 11 productions and two exhibitions over four weekends.
The 2021 SeptFest aims to highlight stories of the marginalized, and the ephemerality of spaces, showcasing work by writer Alfian Sa’at, musician Subhas Nair, multi-disciplinary artist Zai Kuning, cross-disciplinary artist Lim Chin Huat, and artist-curator Zulkhairi Zulkiflee. Complete with a variety of ticketed and free-for-all art exhibitions, music performances, film screenings, and theatre shows, this experience marks the last opportunity for theatre buffs and bibliophiles to witness the Substation in its most original and authentic state. Available now for sale online, the 2021 SeptFest will feature the ‘Migrant Workers Community Museum’, ‘Brown Is Haram’ and ‘The Last Chapter’, for an immersive experience to rediscover the various facets of The Substation including the people, histories, stories and even ghosts that housed themselves in the arts centre.

Let’s Joget & Goreng Together
Live comedy makes a comeback this weekend with Singapore’s funniest diva, Kumar! Taking the mic for Let’s Joget & Goreng Together on 5th and 6th March 2021, at Esplanade Concert Hall, the event will mark the legendary comedian’s first headline show, as well as LA Comedy Live’s first local production since last year’s circuit breaker.
Promising an arsenal of new and current jokes, plus witty observations on Singaporean’s relationship with food and delivery services during the circuit breaker, Kumar will be joined by three other familiar faces in the local comedy scene – Sam See, Qamarul Haziq (aka Qam) and Deepak Chandran (aka Deepak). Worth an estimated $55 to $65, tickets to Let’s Joget & Goreng Together are available for sale now via Sistic, with interested buyers encouraged to purchase tickets in groups of twos and fours.
