Gear up for a treat this weekend with its exciting lineup of activities and jamborees! From shopping at the largest outdoor bazaar along the Singapore River and merrymaking at one of the biggest Oktoberfest celebrations in Asia to getting your adrenaline fix at a horror film festival, there’ll definitely be something for everyone.

1. Singapore River Festival

If the bars, clubs, and restaurants along the Singapore River are your go-to places for a great night out, you’re in luck because the month-long Singapore River Festival is back to make it even better!

The biggest edition yet, there’ll be plenty of exciting activities lined up throughout the festival, including the LAH Bazaar at Clarke Quay, the largest outdoor bazaar along Singapore River! Coined “Local At Heart”, there’ll be a variety of F&B pop-ups, local designers selling handcrafted goods, and carnival games.

Besides the riverside fiesta, you can also expect an AR dodgeball face-off with “fireballs”, a stunning LED kite show in the night sky, an outdoor circus and street performances, and Walaoween, a local-themed Halloween street party at Circular Road!

2. LE ROUGE

Here to paint the town red literally, LE ROUGE is Chanel’s latest interactive beauty pop-up where makeup junkies can learn more about the making of Chanel makeup while snapping some Insta-worthy pictures!

Awash in bright vermillion red to honour the signature Chanel shade, the pop-up is laboratory-inspired and features 3 different zones known as the Red Factory, Red Corridor, and Red Bar.

Expect large tanks full of lipsticks and nail polishes, a makeup station to play around with various products, a digital wall of moving lips, and an illuminated passageway that leads to a lounge area with specially concocted red cocktails. 3. Scream Asia Film Festival

For those of you who are avid fans of horror movies, knock yourself out at the Scream Asia Film Festival, a 10-day horror movie festival that will be screening a total of 11 feature films and 1 short film from all around the world!

Some of these features include Folklore: An HBO ASIA Original Series, Mom and Dad, an adrenaline-pumping thriller starring Nicholas Cage, and The Fake, an animated piece by the director of blockbuster Train to Busan.

4. Oktoberfest Asia 2018

6. Neon Jungle

Get your phones ready for some boomerangs and IG-worthy photos at Gardens by the Bay’s Neon Jungle! 7. Finnish Film Festival 2018

Film buffs, this one’s for you – the Finnish Film Festival 2018! Back for its second edition at The Projector, it will feature a total of 14 specially curated films that include the heartwarming feature made from vintage stop-motion footages that date back to the 80’s, Moomins And The Winter Wonderland, riveting thriller Euthanizer, award-winning comedy Man And A Baby, and the bold and thought-provoking Tom Of Finland.

There’ll even be screenings of masterpieces from Aki Kaurismäki, who has been dubbed as Finland’s best-known film director!

8. “Sunflower Surprise” Floral Display

Now’s the last chance to immerse yourself in a gorgeous sunflower field at Gardens by the Bay! Inspired by The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, where the road to the Emerald City is paved in yellow, “Sunflower Surprise” boasts over 10,000 sunflowers and more than 40 types of sunflower varieties.

These include unusual ones like the fluffy ‘Teddy Bear’, the enormous ‘Uniflorus Giganteus’, which has blooms as large as a human’s face, and the ‘Russian Mammoth’, which towers over everything at 4m tall!

Amidst the flowers, you’ll be able to spot adorable figurines of heroine Dorothy, her faithful dog Toto, pals Scarecrow, Tin Man, and Cowardly Lion, as well as the magnificent Wizard’s castle too!

8. Halloween Horror Nights

9. Singapore by Nguan

Known for his pastel, dreamy-looking street photography, you’ll be able to view his decade-spanning series “Singapore” in a physical exhibition as part of the Singapore International Photography Festival 2018.

10. Rainforest Lumina

We’ve never had the chance to see the sun set at the Singapore Zoo, but in celebration of its 45th birthday, we can now do so with their brand new attraction, Rainforest Lumina! It’s the first multi-sensory night walk in Asia, and the 1km light trail features over 10 interactive zones with various light installations and projections such as the Luminous Pathway, Shimmering Islands, and Lantern Passage.
