Round up the month with a bang with this weekend’s lineup of events! We’ve got the 2018 International Champions Cup for soccer fanatics who have yet to get over the World Cup, another great throwback party at HopHeads, and a flea market with over 100 local designers, chefs, and mixologists!
1. 2018 International Champions Cup

Diehard soccer fans, the 6th edition of the International Champions Cup is finally happening right here in Singapore from 26th July – 30th July! Our sunny island is the only Asian pit stop on the International Champions Cup Tour, and will be playing host to some of the biggest names in European football.

2. EATMEPOPTART x HopHeads present: The Kids Are Alright

For a night of groovy nostalgia, head underground to HopHeads Bar and dance away at The Kids Are Alright! Held in collaboration with EATMEPOPTART, one of the longest-lasting parties in Singapore, the event will have DJs weelikeme and KiDG spin a mixture of adrenaline-pumping hits and chart toppers from the 80’s to the present-day. Plus, there’ll even be exclusive popsicles on sale!

3. Quayside’s Sunday Floral Market

If you can’t get enough of pretty blooms, drop by Quayside’s Sunday Floral Market – a pop-up florist by Hello Flowers available every last Sunday of the month! Bespoke floral arrangements made with a range of seasonal blooms like lilies, peonies, tulips, and lavenders will be on sale from $25 onwards, and you can customise your own bouquet if you’re feeling creative.
There’ll be a DIY potpourri station as well with an assortment of dried petals and organic essential oils, and workshops will be conducted by Hello Flowers for those of you who wish to learn some tips for floral arrangement!

4. Keepers Playground of Infinite Happiness

Artsy folks, mark your calendars for Keepers Playground of Infinite Happiness, a 10-day bazaar with interactive art installations and over 100 designers, craftsmen, chefs, and mixologists as vendors!

Spanning across the entire 5 stories of the National Design Centre, vendors participating in this massive event includes local menswear brand Kevin Seah’s new Black Label, Matter Prints, and The Farm Store and its quirky Singapore-themed trinkets.

Food from Tanuki Raw, Old Seng Choong, and more will also be available in case you get peckish, and additional retail pop-ups will be around on weekends, with this weekend’s focusing on fashion, and the next highlighting Singapore-designed products and goods!

5. Singapore Garden Festival 2018

Plant lovers, make your way down to the Singapore Garden Festival 2018 to gain some new inspirations on how to decorate your house with plants! Aptly held at Gardens by the Bay, the event will showcase horticulture, floral creations, and garden and balcony designs, as well as an orchid extravaganza.

Budding and seasoned gardeners alike can also shop away at the pop-up marketplace, which will feature over 100 vendors that include not just nurseries and gardening suppliers, but also F&B stalls!

6. Transfix presents Solarstone, with Aaron Sim & Hong

Paint the town red at Zouk with Solarstone, the revered DJ and veteran of trance music who has been producing tracks for over 20 years. Having performed his Pure Trance show at various international music festivals and clubs before, this is a golden opportunity to dance away to this bigwig’s club bangers – expect classics like The Calling (1997), Seven Cities (1999), and Solarcoaster (2003), and more recent hits like Electronic Architecture (2009, 2011 and 2014) and A State of Mind (2017)!

8. Singapore Food Festival 2018

It’s the time for $0.50 hawker favourites again! Back for its 25th edition, the 17-day Singapore Food Festival 2018 is split into 4 categories – Modernity, Arts, Culture, and Tradition.

There’ll be a total of 20 events happening under these categories, including the usual highlights like the 50 Cents Fest and STREAT, where you can expect both traditional and reinvented hawker fare by local culinary talents.

New events consist of Park Bench Deli Collaborations, where you can expect creations like char siew banh mi and premium char siew bossam, Beer Yoga & Citylights, which combines an hour of yoga with a bottle of limited-edition beer from craft brewery Trouble Brewing, as well as Old Chang Kee’s Curry Day 2018, where you can expect a curry-themed menu and curry puff crimping sessions!

9. Happy Ever Laughter

10. Cake Club by Marina Square
For those of you who absolutely love cake, head down to Cake Club at Marina Square, where there’ll be all sorts of bakes and sugary delights on sale at the pop-up Cake Bar, including ones by Bloomsbury Bakers, Inthebrickyard, Milk Moons, and My Sister Bakes.
Pair them with freshly brewed tea served by The 1872 Clipper Tea Co., and try your hand at cake decorating, cookie painting, and piping of buttercream flowers at their exclusive workshops if you’re interested in baking!

11. Rainforest Lumina

We’ve never had the chance to see the sunset at the Singapore Zoo, but in celebration of its 45th birthday, we can now do so with their brand new attraction, Rainforest Lumina! It’s the first multi-sensory night walk in Asia, and the 1km light trail will feature over 10 interactive zones with various light installations and projections such as the Luminous Pathway, Shimmering Islands, and Lantern Passage.
