Train to Busan: Come Face to Face with Zombies at Resort World Genting’s Horror House Experience

With it being spooky season now, there are plenty of haunted house experiences to choose from. But if you’re looking for something zombie-themed, consider Resort World Genting’s Train to Busan Horror House Experience.

Based on the 2016 South Korean zombie apocalypse blockbuster Train to Busan, this horror house experience includes the elements that made the movie a success, such as convincingly scary zombies, intricate sets and cutting-edge visual and virtual technology. You don’t have to watch the film to have a good time, but those who have would better understand the references in the entire set. You will be placed in situations similar to the movie and battle through through environments like the Long Corridor, Toilet, Supermarket and Mirror Maze.

There are two horror houses, with the first themed around Seoul Station. Here, battle through zombies while trapped in an apocalyptic version of the gigantic train station. Spoiler alert: once you think you’ve seen enough, the Mirror Maze —the last part of this house— will mess with you one last time.

The second house takes place on the actual train where you’ll be tasked with a challenge: to make it from Train Platform and Passenger Train Carriage, through the Chemical Cargo Train and CDC Lab to safety. While it’s up to you to choose either house to go first, we recommend starting with Seoul Station first to ease yourself into the horror. Or you could get the scariest part out of the way and opt for the Train Carriage first.

If you find yourself too afraid to try out any of the houses, the interactive VR section, Survivor Camp, will work just fine. This activity involves strapping on body armour and wielding guns to defend the quarantine areas from invading zombies. Think of it as playing a video game — if you get freaked out, just take off your headset.
