Two famous Korean bakeries, Bakery 1946 and St Geundae Bakery have finally arrived in Singapore for a 6-day pop-up event at Market Blue in Tanglin Mall! The bakers have flown over to Singapore directly from Korea just to bake all the bread for the pop-up, so you’ll be able to snag freshly-baked goods daily!
Bakes sold start from an affordable price of $2.50. We’ve compiled a guide on some of the most unique bread items and other highlights you can expect to see during the pop-up:
Fruit & vegetable-shaped bread
Undoubtedly the most IG-worthy and striking bakes at the pop-up are the viral K-Apple Bread ($5.90), that’s shaped exactly like a shiny red apple, with a fluffy cream and apple jam centre. You can also get them in a set of 6 ($34.90) and they’ll come packaged in a carton box.
You’ll also find the Sweet Potato Bread ($4.50) that resembles an actual sweet potato, with a vibrant purple exterior and a soft, yellow sweet potato filling.
They even have Garlic Manju ($3.90), that’s shaped just like a garlic bulb, complete with 6 “cloves” of garlic that you can pull apart to eat; as well as Chestnut Manju ($3.90), that looks like a perfectly-roasted chestnut.
King-sized cream buns
For cream bun lovers, there’s plenty of options available at the pop-up, each one fluffier than the next.
There’s mega King-Size Cream Cheese Bread ($5.50) if you really love cream-stuffed buns, or regular-sized cream buns (from $4.90) like Black Sesame Cream Cheese Bread, Strawberry Cream Red Bean Bun, Injeolmi Cream Red Bean Paan Bread, Cheese Latte Bun and more.
Savoury bread options
If all that is too much sweetness for you, there’s also several savoury items you can go for: such as Traditional Sausage Bread ($4.90) Green Onion Cream Bread ($7.80) and Tortilla Pizza Bread ($6.50), just to name a few.
