Johor Bahru is set to welcome a rather unusual new lifestyle destination, where two Boeing 747 aircraft will take centre stage — not at an airport, but above a man-made beach.

Dubbed 1975 Avenue & Hotel, the upcoming aviation-themed development by Tiong Nam Group spans 14.9 acres in Kempas, Johor Bahru, bringing together a boutique hotel, dining and retail spaces, entertainment, and leisure facilities in one destination.

At the centre of the project are two actual Boeing 747 aircraft, named Bove and Bey, which have been transformed into 18 premium hotel suites.
Stay inside a Boeing 747
The 38-room hotel will comprise 20 rooms within the main hotel block and 18 aircraft suites housed inside the two Boeing 747s.

Each aircraft suite is designed around a different country, giving the spaces distinct themes inspired by destinations including Japan, Korea, Mexico, Thailand, Egypt, Monaco, China, France, Italy and Switzerland.

Guests can expect aviation-inspired interiors alongside modern hotel amenities, including smart sensor technology, complimentary Wi-Fi, 55-inch Smart TVs, rain showers, plush linen and branded toiletries. Selected room categories will also feature freestanding bathtubs.

Beyond the rooms, the hotel will have a cantilever swimming pool, lagoon pool, sunken jacuzzi, gym, spa and sauna, observation lounge, VIP dining spaces and a family-friendly playground.

A lifestyle avenue beneath the aircraft
Beyond the hotel, 1975 Avenue & Hotel is being positioned as a lifestyle and dining destination, with 44 commercial units across a three-storey block, two retail bungalows and a dedicated banquet hall.
The development is planned to house a mix of cafes, bars, restaurants, casual dining concepts, buffet restaurants, family-style eateries, poolside cafes and themed entertainment venues.

Adding to the setting is a man-made beach surrounded by greenery, alongside double-volume dining spaces reaching up to seven metres in height, indoor and outdoor event spaces, a lagoon pool and a large 3D LED screen.
The project is also offering leasing opportunities to local and international F&B operators, cafes and lifestyle brands looking to establish a presence in the destination.
There’s something for families too
Families will have another attraction to look forward to with Kidz Republic 1975, a 12,000 sq ft aviation-themed family entertainment centre targeted for launch in Q4 2026.

Designed for children aged two to 12, it will feature an indoor adventure playground, outdoor water play area located beneath the Boeing 747s, and a dedicated parents’ lounge.
With its combination of hotel stays, dining, entertainment and family attractions, 1975 Avenue & Hotel is shaping up to be more than a conventional hotel development.
Located within easy reach of the Eastern Dispersal Link, North-South Highway, Senai-Desaru Highway, Tebrau Highway and Pasir Gudang Highway, the destination is also a short drive from Senai International Airport, LEGOLAND Malaysia and Johor Premium Outlets.
