FAIRPRICE XTRA’S DURIAN BUFFET 2025: UNLIMITED MAO SHAN WANG, BLACK THORN, RED PRAWN, D24 & MORE FROM $65 PER PERSON!

FairPrice Xtra’s highly-anticipated Durian Buffet is finally here: and if you’re thinking of joining in the feast, here’s what you can expect from the durian spread, and if we think it’s worth the money.

If you missed the early bird price, the durian buffet starts from $65 per person, and there’s 3 different tiers you can choose from:
Regular ($65 per person) – Red Prawn, D24, D13, Kampung

Gold ($85 per person) – Musang King, Black Thorn, Red Prawn, D24, D13, Kampung

Gold Twin ($150 for 2 persons) –  Bring a friend to enjoy the Gold tier buffet together

For durian connoisseurs who love premium varieties like Musang King and Black Thorn, we think it’s definitely worth the money to upgrade to the Gold tier buffet. Especially considering it’s only an additional $20 to be able to enjoy unlimited Musang King and Black Thorn varieties on top of the regular varieties—when buying a kilo of either varieties on their own would typically cost way more than $20 elsewhere. This time, they’ve also introduced a brand new tier, the Gold Twin Buffet, which lets you bring a friend to enjoy the Gold buffet for $150 (UP. $170), which works out to just $75 per person, making the Gold buffet even more value-for-money.

For the actual buffet, the various varieties will be plated up in portions so diners can simply grab their choice of durian self-serve-style from the tables according to their buffet tier. There will also be staff dehusking the durians live constantly to replenish the durian plates, so you can be sure the durians are fresh and not sitting out in the open for long periods of time. Buffet goers will also be getting complimentary 300g mangosteens and 1 fresh coconut water (in husk); though since we’re here for the durians, we’d probably skip on the mangosteens.

Each buffet session lets you eat all-you-can for a dining duration of 60 minutes, with hourly sessions daily starting from 2pm onwards (from 3pm onwards on Fridays) on the following dates and locations:

FairPrice Xtra JEM – 25th to 27th July 2025

FairPrice Xtra VivoCity – 1st to 3rd August 2025

We’re also told that there’s about 30 to 40 seats per buffet tier per session, so there’s probably plenty of chances for you to get a slot for this buffet.

So, is FairPrice’s durian buffet worth the money? For big durian eaters, we reckon if you’re able to eat at least 10 pieces of durian during your session, you’ll already be making your money’s worth. Across the board, we felt that the durians served during the buffet are definitely fresh and of good quality—that’s if they manage to maintain this same quality throughout all sessions of the buffet. Plus, we like how the buffet is held indoors in an air-conditioned venue, so we can feast in comfort without having to worry about sweating in the heat. If you’ve yet to book your session for the durian buffet, you can do so online here, or in-store as well.
