G-Shock Launches New Champagne Gold Bezel Series for Women!

Casio’s G-Shock is well-known for its shock-resistant watches that are made to survive falls, withstand water damage, and have a lasting battery life. With oversized watch faces and thick wristbands, these watches are generally designed with male wearers in mind, and Casio even launched Baby-G to specifically market G-Shock watches towards women. While the brand has launched watches with feminine designs and daintier sizes in the past, this is the first time that G-Shock has redesigned its classic vintage silhouette specifically for female wearers – #girlpower.

The new line of feminine watches are based on the GM-5600 series launched last year that draws inspiration from the first line of G-Shock watches ever made, which borrows the look and construction of the original but includes an upgraded electronic module and dial, capped in a steel bronze bezel for a sleek modern look.

For the new GM-S5600 line, one can expect a more feminine take on the GM-5600 with bezels in colours such as Rose Gold, Champagne Gold, and Silver. The watches also feature lighter weight and a better fit for small wrists.

Functions of the GM-S5600 do not vary much from typical G-Shock watches, with a stopwatch, countdown timer, multi-function alarm, full calendar, and backlight. The appeal definitely lies in design and the message – with the sleek minimalist look of the original design fitting well against the new line’s soft feminine colours to create a great sense of versatility. The line even has the tagline ‘Dare to Defy’ and a campaign fronted with strong female personalities such as artist Tiffany Lovage and host Ashley Rita Wong to send a message on female empowerment.

The new GM-S5600 will be available from 10th October, with prices ranging from $249 to $269. You may visit Casio’s website for more details.
