This Coffee Shop in JB Has Flavoured Youtiao like Otah, Kaya and More

Fried dough sticks, or youtiao, is best eaten with a cup of soya milk or a hot bowl of porridge. But we found a coffee shop in JB that adds flavour to these delicious fritters by stuffing them with sweet and savoury fillings!

Kafe Barokah Molek, located at a town in JB called Taman Molek, specialises in all things youtiao. However, unlike regular youtiaos, theirs are stuffed with ingredients like otah, red beans, sardines, tuna, and even glutinous rice.

Want more flavour? You can dip your dough stick into chilli sauce or even coleslaw.

Youtiao is also a staple in traditional desserts like tau suan, so it shouldn’t come as a surprise that this hole-in-the-wall eatery also serves a good old satisfying bowl of the mung bean dessert.

Food prices are not known, but they should average at about RM2-5 (~S$1-$2).
