This is one high tea experience where you can actually play with your food: DIY and paint on your high tea items, literally, using real paintbrushes and edible paints!
Sofitel Singapore City Centre has just launched a new DIY painting high tea affair, the City of Flavours Afternoon Tea, where guests are invited to unleash their creativity, and create their own art piece while dining. While waiting for the high tea items to be served, you can get started on your artwork: you’ll be getting a blank slate that acts as your canvas, a set of edible paints made from sugar, paintbrushes and a palette for mixing colours.
There are absolutely no rules here: use the paints to create anything you wish, you can even pour the paints directly, make abstract splatters or draw shapes—anything goes. Fair warning though: the paints can get a little sticky and messy, so go ahead and use the aprons they provide. Once your high tea set comes, feel free to place them however you like on your finished “canvas” to create a brand new artwork. You can even paint directly on the macarons!

The high tea is inspired by local flavours, and some of our favourite bites include the Scallop & Yam Fritter, Salted Egg Yolk Brioche, Tuna Monaka, Masala Tea with Pistachio Paris Brest and the Matcha & Azuki Opera Cake. The set also comes with your choice of TWG Tea or coffee; but you can top up for a Portraits of Elsewhere ($20++) cocktail or Paris Pop Citrus ($14++) mocktail.
