Starbucks Reserve Offering Hand-Crafted Brews Opens at Marina Bay Sands

With Singaporeans taking their cuppa’ joe very seriously nowadays, Starbucks is taking its coffee to the next level. At Starbucks Reserve, coffee beans are sourced from around the world and small-batch roasted in Seattle. They develop a signature roast for every one of their coffees, and the result is one of their rarest coffees, often available only for a limited time.

While it is not the first Starbucks Reserve branch in Singapore, it certainly is the most pleasing to the eye. At the outlet located in The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands, you can try your hand at “Third Wave” hand brewed coffees. Starbucks is introducing the Siphon brewing method (which looks like an elaborate science experiment), that produces a delicate, tea-like cup of coffee.

You can also get your coffee from the Clover brewer, the Chemex coffeemaker, the traditional Coffee Press and Pour-over – specialty brewing methods usually only available at independent coffee houses. At the bar, coffee is brewed before your eyes by experienced baristas, who are up to explain the brewing methods, and discuss flavour profiles of the coffee with aficionados. If you just want a regular cup of joe, Starbucks has their usual coffee and tea beverages as well.

Artistry is not only reflected in their beverages, but also in the design of the space. The luxe interiors featuring a brown and gold theme basked in warm lighting, and with lots of wood to give the place a more homely feel. More swanky versions of Starbucks’ merchandise are available for purchase, in line with the whole lavishness of the outlet, and Marina Bay Sands itself.
You can expect to leave with a cup of coffee mastery hand-brewed to perfection in your belly (or hand), and a completely new experience and perspective of one of the most famous coffee chains in the world.
