5. Floral Pressing Workshop 

Create a beautiful work of art and contribute to a good cause at the same time with Fresh Off The Press and Habitat for Humanity Singapore’s Flower Pressing Workshop! This 1.5-hour Flower Pressing Workshop ($45) lets you create your own custom framed pressed flower artwork, and you can also bring along a polaroid-sized photo if you want to include it in the frame.

6. Spectra – A Light & Water Show 

The water and light spectacle, Spectra, returns to Marina Bay Sands after a long 2-year hiatus! The highly anticipated and fan-favourite light and water show is free for all to attend, and is sure to dazzle with its extravagant effects.

Spectra has a total of 4 acts, and features an array of state-of-the-art lasers, lighting, water effects and projections, coupled with an epic orchestra soundtrack composed by award-winning local music producer, Kenn C. The star of the show is undoubtedly the bespoke 12-metre tall laminated glass and stainless steel prism that will burst to life during the show.

7. Pasar Malam

If you haven’t heard already, Pasar Malams are back in business all around Singapore! Chomp on all your favourite Pasar Malam goodies like Ramly Burger, Roti John, Sweet Potato Balls, Shark’s Fin Soup and more!

8. Gorgeous Transformation Art Exhibition 2022

To celebrate both Mother’s Day and Labour Day, ION Art Gallery will be hosting an exhibition titled Gorgeous Transformation Art Exhibition 2022. The exhibition is free and will feature more than 50 artworks from 57 women from the Women Artists Association (WAA).

This exhibition will give the women the opportunity and platform they need to showcase their art and gain exposure. The artworks featured in the exhibition are also an homage to the unconditional love of mothers all around the world, as well as to pay tribute to the sacrifices made by frontline workers during the pandemic.

9. The Forest and Its Soul

Take a step closer to nature with The Forest and Its Soul exhibition by Singaporean artist Han Sai Por. Inspired by her time spent close to nature, hiking in forests, exploring beaches and observing flora and fauna, the exhibition is sure to entice all nature lovers.

The free exhibition features 35 print and paper artworks using new technologies to create various photo intaglio prints, laser cut works, paper-cast “paintings” that depict aspects of nature like undulating waves, forests, creatures and more.

10. Singapore Art Book Fair 

You don’t have to be a bookworm to attend a book fair, the Singapore Art Book Fair (SGABF) has something for everyone—from aesthetic coffee table books, artsy zines, contemporary art books and more!

SGABF is an independent event taking place at the Singapore Art Museum that spotlights independent artists, designers, small presses, zinemakers, printmakers and more. This year’s book fair features a total of 94 local and international exhibitors from countries like Brazil, Australia, South Korea, Italy, Japan and more, all coming together to share their art. \
