We’re gearing up for the March school holidays with the upcoming Sentosa FunFest and plenty of lazing around! Last year it was giant We Bare Bears. This year, it’s the Sanrio gang! Gudetama, My Melody and Hello Kitty are visiting Sentosa this March holiday for this year’s edition of FunFest. There’s going to be a 3 meter tall giant gooey egg on Palawan Beach – you won’t be able to miss it! After that, head to the beach filled with over 800 inflatable Gudetama lazing around. Lucky fans will be able to catch Hello Kitty and her BFF My Melody at various photo-points around the beach too. So kawaii.

2. Guinness Celebrates St. Patrick’s Day: Free Pints For Everyone With “Pat” In Your Name

It’s a jolly good weekend full of laughter all 0ver town as some of the best comedians in the region flock to Singapore for the upcoming Comedy Fest. Tom Green, Kevin Gildea, Aidan Killian are just some of the performers in the lineup, which will be taking place in 5 different bars in Clarke Quay this weekend. Staying true to our feud with Malaysia to see who’s better, there’s also stand-up battle where Malaysian and Singaporean comedies battle it out to see who’ll take the last punchline.

5. Kate Spade First Ever Global Pop-Up In Singapore

The very first collection to launch after their founder’s passing, Kate Spade is now back on the radar of fashion insiders as they drop the Spring Summer ’19 collection at an exclusive pop-up in ION, which will also feature a limited edition bag which can only be bought in Southeast Asia. Unveiling the collection tomorrow is Sandara Park, who used to be part of 2NE1. Fans can catch the Kpop star, Indonesia actress Jessica Mila, Malaysia actress Juliana Evans, and Mediacorp artiste Rebecca Lim tomorrow 12 March at the atrium in ION Orchard.
But you’ve got to wait till this weekend to get your hands on the limited-edition Southeast Asia bag as the personalization service is only available on 15 and 16 March. You can also order and personalise you own luggage tag from Kate Spade’s recent Unlock Your Heart campaign.

6. Durian Fiesta 2019

It’s all about the spiky, stinky fruit over at the Durian Fiesta by Goodwood Park Hotel. The hotel’s deli is well-known for their durian pastries and desserts, and they’re back with more! This year sees 6 new D24 durian desserts, including the D24 Royale Cheesecake, D24 Pandan Lapis Coconut Cake, D24 Strawberry Bliss, D24 Matcha Mont Blanc Tart and Mini D24 Ice Cream Bars.
There’s also a limited edition D24 Singapore commemoration cake ($88) in lieu of Singapore’s Bicentennial year, that is a mix of gula melaka, coffee, pandan and durian and is topped with white chocolate squares imprinted with historical scenes of Singapore and the hotel. Only 200 of these cakes are available, and you must pre-order them online.

7. Eyes & Curiosity—Flowers in the Field

The Japanese is known for their unconventional thinking, and their art is no different. The latest exhibition by Mizuma Gallery touches on the concept of time, but with a more modern and (slightly) erotic approach by four Japanese artists. Kato Ai paints caricatures of “untouchable beauty” which only exists in anime and manga while Ryoko Kimura sexualises men instead of women in her traditional Edo-style drawings.Date: 16 March – 21 April 2019

The beauty brand has partnered with local creamery Birds Of Paradise for a customized ice cream bar, featuring flavors that pay homage to key ingredients found in Clarins’ best-selling makeup and skin are. The limited edition Cherry Basil flavor is a nod to the Acerola Cherry that can be found in Clarins’ White Plus range. And yes, the pink pop-up is decorated with neon signs and photo booths so that you can snap a couple pics for the ‘gram.

Celebrate sakura season the Singapore way at Gardens By The Bay because flights to Japan are too expensive. The annual Sakura Matsuri is now happening over at the Flower Dome, with gorgeous bloom displays in the cooling Flower Dome and Torii gates covered in a canopy of pink and white cherry blossoms. Over 20 varieties of cherry blossoms will be on display until 31 March.
On the last weekend of March, the Anime Garden will bring your favorite characters on screen to life with performances, anime screenings, anisong artists and celebrity cosplayers. Matsuri games, a food bazaar hawking Japanese treats and a whole schedule of Japanese cultural performances will make you feel like you’re in one of those spring festivals.
