1. Beerfest Asia 2016

Cheers to the weekend with over 500 varieties of beers and spirits at the largest four-day beer festival in Asia. Ranging from well loved classics to unique craft creations and premium spirits, this is going to be every beer snob’s favourite event. Enjoy live performances from international tribute bands, local acts and stand-up comedians while you spend a night – or all four nights – in beer heaven.

2. Journey to the End and Back

This is not your usual indoor escape room in shopping malls, and neither is it one for the faint at heart. Journey to the End and Back is a large-scale, outdoor escape room game held at the super eerie Haw Par Villa. Players must solve riddles and challenges that revolve around the plot of a school excursion gone wrong. If you think you are brave enough to run through the Ten Courts of Hell solving haunting mysteries, this game is for you. Tickets are selling out, fastest fingers first!

3. Buds Theatre: IN-HOUSE Series 2015

Show your support for the local arts scene by catching two highly thought-provoking plays written by youth theatre members at Buds Theatre. ‘Hold On’ by Wisley Chow is a deeply evocative number that explores feelings of loneliness and isolation, while ‘The Heart is Only a Muscle’ by Narisha Ibrahim is one that touches on the painful stages of grief.

4. A Rooftop Affair: Greyson Chance Live in Singapore

Fans of Greyson Chance, you can catch him at an intimate rooftop concert this weekend. The American heartthrob who stole our hearts with his viral cover of Lady Gaga’s ‘Paparaazi’ is here to perform some of his new songs at myVillage, Serangoon Gardens. It has been a good six years since his overnight sensation, and the 18-year-old is no longer the baby-faced tween we used to know. Expect a deep, booming voice and heartfelt ballads penned by Chance himself. Apart from his set, edgy singer-songwriter Inch Chua will also be performing at the rooftop event.

5. The Beast: Father’s Day Promotion

7. The Local People x National Heritage Board Art Market

Themed ‘Never Growing Up’, the upcoming weekend art market at Waterloo Centre is a collaboration between The Local People and The National Heritage Board. This activity-packed event includes face-painting, art workshops, quirky wall installations, live storytelling and music performances from local bands. A whopping 50 vendors will be setting up booths at the market selling everything from art pieces to gourmet bites and artisanal ice cream. Look forward to the movie screening at night to end the day on a super chill note.

8. Trip to Nursery + Create a Bouquet with Shop Wonderland

Shop Wonderland, a café cum florist nestled in the heart of Haji Lane, is offering a hands-on experience for flower enthusiasts interested in basic bouquet making. It begins with a trip to the nursery, where you will be guided on how to purchase flowers and gain a deeper understanding of the different varieties and types needed to create the perfect bouquet. After you have picked out your flowers, you will spend all afternoon at the store learning the intricate techniques of creating a flower bouquet. No prior knowledge and experience is necessary; this is the weekend to learn a new skill.

9. Soak Out! Water Party at Universal Studios Singapore

Park goers can now look forward to a special water parade at USS everyday, featuring entertainers and over 50 characters engaging in friendly water gun fights. (buy a water gun from the carts around the water fight area and you can join in the fun too) There is also the Soak Out After Party held from 6 – 9 pm on Fridays, Saturdays and selected nights. The park’s opening hours will be extended on these days and selected attractions will remain open all night  – jump on the popular Battlestar Galactica for a whole other experience.

10. Carnival Market at ORTO

This weekend is abuzz with markets, and the Carnival Market at ORTO is adding on to the list. This massive one will see over 50 stalls, including home bakers selling their fresh bakes and vendors dishing out local eats. Apart from shopping and eating, this market will also be hosting a prawning workshop and terrarium workshop – not the usual activities you would expect at a weekend market. Stay till night to soak up the good vibes with performances from a live band and ice cold Paulaner beer.

11. Tay Kewei Live at the Esplanade
