Support local’ is something we hear all the time, but real spaces for artists to be seen and heard are less common. This March, that’s exactly what’s taking shape with the launch of The Centrestage — a new recurring event series that turns a mall atrium into a platform for Singapore’s emerging artists, performers, and creative communities.

When Artists Share More Than Just Their Work
The opening weekend on 21 and 22 March kicks things off with music, bringing together a line-up of local artists and talented students for the inaugural “Artist Story: Music Edition.”
Beyond the performances, each act will also share the stories and inspirations behind their craft — giving audiences a glimpse into the journeys behind the music.
Headlining the weekend are rising local artists Josh Makazo and Shazza, who will close each evening with high-energy sets that spotlight the diversity of Singapore’s emerging music scene.
The line-up doesn’t stop there. Across both days, audiences can also catch a mix of up-and-coming artists and student ensembles including Jason Yu, ANNÉ, Noah Fang, Bernice Ong, Ishbel Warifa, Chelsea Cara, Layyi and ICEBOX — making for a packed programme of live performances throughout the weekend.

When a Mall Becomes a Gallery
From 23 March to 2 April, the spotlight shifts to visual art.
In collaboration with tenant WE ART, The Centrepoint’s atrium will transform into a vibrant exhibition space showcasing works by students, emerging talents, and established local artists. Instead of a traditional gallery setting, the exhibition sits right in the middle of everyday mall life — inviting shoppers to pause, explore, and engage with local creativity.
Beyond simply viewing the artworks, visitors can also take part in hands-on workshops running from 25 to 29 March (2pm to 6pm), alongside art performances on 28 and 29 March. Designed to be approachable and easy to join, these sessions invite everyone — whether you’re a seasoned hobbyist or someone who hasn’t picked up a paintbrush since school — to get involved and try their hand at creating something of their own.

A Stage For Something Meaningful
The Centrestage reflects a simple but meaningful idea: supporting local creativity goes beyond conversation.
By opening its space to performances, exhibitions, workshops, and community activities, The Centrepoint is creating opportunities for artists to be seen and for visitors to discover new talent — sometimes in the most unexpected place.
In a city where creative spaces can be hard to come by, initiatives like this remind us that sometimes the most unexpected places — even a mall atrium — can become a stage for something meaningful.
