You Can Cast a Curse on Your Enemy, Boss or Ex in Singapore — & Even Get it Done by an Actual Witch!

Ever hated someone so much, you wish you could curse them? Well, it turns out that there’s actually a place for you to do just that in Singapore. You might have heard of The Love Witch, a studio in Singapore run by its resident witch, Bambi, that specialises in witchcraft, spellwork and manifestations. But they also specialise in another type of service—curses.

This specific type of service falls under their Hands-On Voodoo Spell experience, which utilizes “poppet” dolls to represent your target-to-be-cursed. For the uninitiated, poppets are what were traditionally used to cast magic spells on, before the idea of voodoo dolls were popularised; but they’re essentially identical in purpose. How does this “cursing” actually work? You’ll first need a target: this could be anyone from your ex-partner, boss, colleague or nemesis. Some curses that have been requested in the past include wishing negative karma on someone as retribution, breaking up third-parties or wishing ill upon someone’s person. The cost? A pretty $108 apiece for a pre-charged poppet. But before you go off wanting to curse your enemies willy nilly, be warned: The Love Witch only accepts justified curses. This means that you must have a legitimate reason for wanting to cast a curse on someone: for example, they did you a grave injustice. Requests to cast curses on innocents and children will be rejected.

For the actual process itself, it’s a pretty straightforward 2 to 3-step process:

  1. Mandatory tarot card reading and consultation to check if the curse spell is justified
  2. Customers choose a pre-charged poppet doll for their specific purpose, and set their intentions for casting the curse with their target’s name and photo

If you want the curse to be extra effective, there’s an option for Bambi herself to conduct a double-casting ritual, which is supposed to lock in the curse with even “stronger intentions”. Now, if you’re like us, you’re probably also pretty skeptical about the efficacy of these “curses”—do they actually work, or are they just another gimmick? We’re told that the “success” of these curses are actually largely based on belief and intention: if you believe it works, it’s more likely to. So far, there actually have been quite a number of “success stories” from those who have done these curses at The Love Witch: like ex-partners whose lives went downhill after being cursed or even losing their job.

But are there any negative repercussions for casting a curse on someone? The short answer is: potentially, yes. Just think of it as negative karma befalling those with ill intentions—if you wish harm on someone else without a good reason, it’s likely the “bad karma” will befall you instead. This is why The Love Witch places only accepts legitimate reasons for enacting a curse. If you’re intrigued (or you want to cast a curse of your own), there are 2 kinds available at The Love Witch:

Curse/Karmic Returns Poppet – $108

Double Cast by Bambi Poppet Magick – $288
