This bazaar is located opposite Giant Southern City, about 20 minutes away from the checkpoint, and is well-known for being a seafood-centric bazaar. Some of the food items you’ll find include seafood nasi goreng, curry puffs, rotisserie chicken, kunafa desserts and more

You can’t miss out on all the seafood items here, from massive seafood grills featuring jumbo mud crabs, massive king crabs, giant clams, spiced whole sambal fish, buttered lobsters and whole squid, among others.

One of the biggest Raya events in JB, Bazar Gobok Raya, is coming back this year starting from 17th March 2025. Organised by MaQan Event, this year’s bazaar will be held at Sunway BIg Box Retail Park, located less than 30 minutes away from the checkpoint.

The list of vendors for the bazaar has yet to be confirmed, but you can expect a wide variety of retail shopping, ready-to-eat street food, kuehs, Raya snacks and more. Previous events saw stalls selling assorted cookie/tart tubs from RM5, chocolate drenched croissants, grilled meats, viral birria tacos, overflowing milk tea drinks and more.

3. Taman Johor Jaya Ramadan Bazaar

Johor Jaya at Hong Kong Boy JB Food street is known as a famous open-air food street, but also hosts some of the biggest food events during special festival seasons like Chinese New Year, and now also for Hari Raya.

This year’s event will see over 50 stalls, and you can expect a wide variety of street food and tze char-style dishes like Penang charcoal-fried char kway teow, lok lok skewers, oyster omelette and more, with plenty of tables set up under the stars for dining in.

4. Paradigm Mall JB Ramadan Food Festival

The popular Paradigm Mall located 20 minutes away from the checkpoint transforms its ground floor atrium and plaza into a massive bazaar space filled with festival vibes this Hari Raya season. The plus about this festival is that since it’s held indoors within the mall, you get to enjoy your eats in air-conditioned comfort.

This year’s bazaar is said to feature a wave of more trendy food items that would appeal more to the younger crowd. There’s over 30 stalls and you can expect unique items like taco rendang, kunafa desserts, boba-infused rainbow drinks and more.

5. Bazaar Ramadan Plaza Angsana

This bazaar is located right next to Angsana Mall, just 15 minutes away from the checkpoint. The outdoor festival sees a wide variety of popular eats, and you’ll be able to see several; food vendors grilling up a storm. There will also be Raya outfits available to shop at the retail stalls.

Some of the food items you can expect at the bazaar include mix & match tempura, tteokbokki, assorted crispy popiah rolls, jumbo chicken percik skewers, mango floats, steamed bamboo kueh, Korean-inspired nasi ayam, apam balik and more.

6. Bazaar Karat Ramadan

Also known as JB Central Bazaar, Bazaar Karat is a popular food festival with both locals and Singaporeans on the regular, and transforms into a festive Ramadan food street during the Raya season. The bazaar is conveniently located less than 10 minutes away from the checkpoint.

Some popular street food items to expect include unique fusion apam balik, premium lok lok skewers with Ramadan-special sauces, deep fried ice cream, jumbo fried chicken and more. Like usual, there will also be various fashion apparel, accessories and trinkets you can shop too.

7. Cheritera Raya

Happening at the trendy container park-inspired B5 Johor Street Market is Cheritera Raya, a Ramadan edition  of the market just for the Hari Raya season. The market is located less than 20 minutes away from the checkpoint, and is even open till 12am, great for late night shopping.

8. Larkin Ramadan Food Paradise

Larkin Ramadan Food Paradise is set to be yet another popular destination to break fast, located close to Larkin Sentral, less than 20 minutes away from the checkpoint. You can expect to see a variety of raya snacks, apparel, refreshing drinks, home decor and more.

This bazaar is located in the open-air area near AEON Mall, and offers a wide selection of food options: from traditional Malay fare to trendy fusion street food. The bazaar is located about 45 minutes away from the checkpoint.
