We can’t seem to get over the Korean aesthetic in cafés, and Yeon Cafe’s got the K-style café vibe spot on. Situated just 10 minutes away from the checkpoint, the café has a romantic vintage feel, with lace curtains, knit tablecloths, moody lighting and even “self-service”-style dessert displays. The space is reminiscent of the viral Café Margaret in Korea (and now Singapore too).

This is possibly the trendiest café in JB right now, a cool hangout for anything from coffee to cocktails. 3 Little Chef is a popular chain of cafés with various unique concepts, and their latest is a tranquil French-inspired glasshouse-esque spot hidden amongst the lush nature at Medini, under 30 minutes away from the checkpoint. The café looks like something out of the streets of Paris, with elegant outdoor rattan chairs, as well as plush sofa seats indoors.
