Situated conveniently within town in Orchard Plaza, Sushi Michi is the sister outlet of YUTA (located just a few steps away), boasting an extensive selection of over 120 different nigiri. The well-lit space features primarily light wood furnishings for a clean, minimalist and classic Japanese ambience.

The restaurant only has a mere 12 seats within the space, so you can be sure it’ll be quite the intimate dining experience. Sushi Michi only offers 4 types of omakase courses, 2 each for lunch and dinner. For lunch, you have a 13-course Tama Omakase at $80++ or Yuu Omakase $108++ that comes with 10 pieces of nigiri sushi.

2. Ikigai Omakase

Tucked away in a hidden spot in the CBD is Ikigai Omakase, perfect for if you’re looking to splurge on an omakase meal or lunch set during the workday. As for the vibes, expect an intimate counter dining experience where you get to see the chef in action up close!

Prices are pretty affordable, starting at $88++ for lunch and $98++ for dinner. Items included in the omakase are seasonal, but you can expect ingredients like akami, hamachi, ikura chawanmushi, kanpachi, uni and more. They also have lunch sets from $38++ that includes an appetiser, soup and main. Reservations for omakase are highly recommended, at least 2-3 days in advance.

3. Tomidou

If you’re down to splurge a little more, Tomidou offers a more luxe dining experience in their beautiful zen-inspired space. The restaurant is helmed by renowned Japanese chefs with nearly 30 years of sushi experience under their belt. What’s unique about their omakase courses is the incorporation of French elements for a truly one-of-a-kind experience.

You can look forward to 10 to 19 items served in their omakase courses, with a 10-dish Sakura lunch course at $150++; and a 15-dish Tsuki dinner course at $400++. Look forward to premium seasonal ingredients even for their introductory-level omakase, such as uni handroll, foie gras chawanmushi, chutoro, unagi and more.

4. Ikkoten

If you’re looking for traditional Kyoto-style Kappo omakase, Ikkoten is the place to be. The restaurant boasts “true Japanese cuisine” that’s immersive and meticulously crafted for a fine, artful dining experience. The intimate 10-seater space is hidden behind their sister outlet, Kura Oyster & Highball, which is a casual oyster bar.

A 5-course Yuki lunch omakase is priced at $88++, and includes premium dishes like tuna belly hot pot and collagen donabe. For dinner, a 9-course Tsuki omakase is priced at $198++ and comes with uni chawanmushi and charcoal-grilled beef, among other seasonal items.

You’re probably familiar with the brand Fat Cow, a Japanese restaurant specialising in all things beefy. MIYOSHI is a new collaborative concept by the folks at Fat Cow, offering a tranquil and modern dining experience at Sentosa. The spacious, multi-concept dining space features a section for teppan-kaiseki, as well as a la carte dishes and set lunches.

MIYOSHI also offers a special Chef’s Table Sushi Omakase for dinner, featuring a whopping 20 items for $228++ per person! With that kind of price tag, you can expect a series of premium ingredients akami, anago, abalone, wagyu, fatty tuna, uni handroll and more. The omakase is only available at 6.45pm, and prior reservations are required.

This omakase restaurant specialises in custom fish-ageing, resulting in fish that’s much more tender, sweet and umami. The restaurant has a pretty and serene ambience, with a mere 14 seats facing beautiful hand-drawn Japanese murals of kingfishers.

The lunch omakase course starts from $98++ for 6 courses; while the dinner omakase starts from $268++ for 7 courses. All sashimi and fish items are either wet or dry-aged in-house for various periods of time to give you the best flavour. You can expect seasonal ingredients like snow crab, barracuda, otoro and more.
