8 AESTHETIC NEW CAFÉS TO VISIT IN SINGAPORE THIS MARCH 2023!

1. FiftyFive Coffee Bar

This duo-concept coffee bar is one for all you coffee lovers out there. Aptly named FiftyFive as a playful reference to their address (and opening hours), this is a novel coffee bar by day and soon-to-be cocktail lounge by night—all in a stylish loft-style atmosphere. The 2-storey space boasts a warm wood-inspired theme with tasteful and artful touches.

As part of the café’s opening, they’re also featuring a multi-sensory art installation called “Forest Bathing @ Fifty Five” with lush Japanese zen garden-inspired vibes that makes the space look more like an art gallery. FiftyFive currently serves in-house bakes and specialty coffee and tea drinks like Manuka Honey Miso Honey ($7.50), Strawberry Pipagao Latte (from $7.50), Chardonnay Tea (from $5.50), Sangria Punch Tea (from $5.50) and more.

2. Micro Bakery Kitchen

Micro Bakery Kitchen is a popular bakery known for their handcrafted small-batch sourdough bakes, all made in-house and with sustainable wholegrain flour. They have two other smaller spaces at Serene Centre and Katong’s Red House, and have finally opened a 3rd outlet so more people can enjoy their freshly baked goods.

Micro Bakery’s newest café at Tiong Bahru boasts a welcoming and homey terracotta-hued space with a courtyard and a “sunroof” to let in lots of natural light during the day. The new café serves brunch favourites and seasonal items like Duck Ragout ($22), Nagaimo Croquette ($18), Dark Chocolate Zucchini Cake ($6), Tomato Gazpacho ($13), Brinjal Flatbread ($18) and more.

3. Venchi

Gourmet Italian chocolatier Venchi has opened a new dine-in café space at Raffles City for you to get your chocolate, gelato and crêpe fix! Their dine-in area oozes luxe with shiny gold-gilded furniture and mirrored tables. The café also features their classic retail section where you can pick your own chocolates.

Venchi uses only the finest natural ingredients in their chocolates, and desserts, so you know you’re only getting the gourmet stuff. For dine-in, look forward to their Gourmet Crêpes ($12), plus gelato (from $11 for 2 flavours) in flavours like Nougatine, Green Pistachio, Dark Chocolate, Strawberry, Mango and more.

4. TAG Espresso

Following the success of their first takeaway kiosk concept at Raffles City Shopping Centre, novel coffee capsule brand TAG Espresso has opened their very first full-fledged café concept at Takashimaya! The chic industrial-themed space features cool silver steel accents, concrete countertops and floors, softened with wood accents and touches of nature.

Aside from coffee, TAG will also be serving an all-new brunch and savoury food menu including the likes of Smoky Fried Rice ($16.80), Sirloin Beef Steak ($27.80), Avocado Toast ($17.90) and more. They will also be offering unique coffee drinks like Pineapple Black ($7), Rose Coconut Latte ($8.50), Kaya Pandan Latte ($9) and more. The café will even have coffee-infused cocktails like Dirty Yuan Yang ($15) if you’re feeling boozy.

5. Café Brera

If you love French pastries and viennoiseries, chances are, you’re familiar with Bakery Brera: known for their cruffins (croissant-muffins), pastries, bread rolls and more. If you’re already a fan of Bakery Brera, you’ll be glad to know that they’ve just unveiled their new café concept called Café Brera at Reunion!

The café is located within the National Museum of Singapore and boasts high ceilings and arched windows for that European vibe and to let in lots of natural light during the day. You can look forward to brunch items, snacks, coffee, tea, plus their artisanal pastries and bakes like croissants, cruffins, puffs, danishes, scones, kouign-amann and more!

6. Acai Brothers

Acai fanatics are sure to love Acai Brothers—founded by two best friends, the brand is Australia’s leading superfood bar and they’ve just opened their second outlet in Singapore! The new outlet features the brand’s iconic black industrial-inspired theme, plus small tables and bench seating surrounding the counter for you to dine in.

7. Arc-en-Ciel

This is a hidden pâtisserie tucked away on the second floor of a Neil Road shophouse with a soothing Scandinavian vibe with bright colours and touches of nature. There are a couple of seating options in the café: small tables or bar seating situated by the windows for scenic views of the Maxwell area, or large communal tables for larger groups.

Arc-en-Ciel used to operate as an online business, and they’re famed for their super aesthetic desserts that are just oh-so-pretty. Each handcrafted entremet is named after a significant person, event, or a memorable travel destination in the owner’s life, and even comes with their own recommended tea pairing. 8. Folke Café

Folke is Singapore’s first skincare-centric café with food and drinks infused with nutrients like collagen and protein to boost your skin! The space features a Scandinavian-inspired concept with al fresco seating. It’s also located right next to their skincare clinic if you’re interested in getting their skin services.
