Bread lovers, you’ll want to hear this: you can now easily get the viral glazed pull-apart bread buns at this new bakery in the CBD.
Boronas at Asia Square Tower in the CBD is Singapore’s first Colombian-inspired bakery, and they dole out fresh trays of fluffy flower-shaped and maple glazed rye bread buns every day. If these shiny, glazed flower-shaped buns look familiar to you, that’s because they are—these buns are actually served at Latido, a popular Colombian restaurant in Singapore, and now you can finally get your hands on their cult-favourite bread buns at the new bakery kiosk.
Pan de la Casa, from $8 each
Called Pan de la Casa, these signature bread buns are made with rye flour and infused with fermented mushrooms before being glazed with maple syrup. The already umami bread is also served alongside their housemade smoked butter, which lent the bread that perfect saltiness and smoky aroma.
They churn out freshly baked buns constantly throughout the day, so they’re best eaten as soon as you buy them—perfectly soft and fluffy. You can get a single Pan de la Casa for $8, or get a box of 3 buns for $22.
La Mananera, $10
Pan y fiesta, $16
Aside from bread buns, Boronas also offers a modest selection of breakfast and lunch items, all of which are available for takeaway. For breakfast, they’ve got La Mananera ($10), an traditional-inspired arepa made with sweet corn and topped with egg and freshly-sliced avocado. The Pan y fiesta ($16) is also a great option for a light lunch: a pulled pork sandwich topped with generous shavings of freshly-grated parmesan cheese for that extra savouriness.
Chispa de Panela, $6
Aside from bakes, Boronas also has drinks, including unique options like Chispa de Panela ($6), a refreshing drink with sugar cane pearls and topped with coconut foam; as well as the classic Café Colombiano ($5) black coffee.
