NEW OCEANARIUM OPENS AT SENTOSA ON 24TH JULY 2025: LIFE-SIZED ANIMATRONIC SEA CREATURES, 36-METRE AQUARIUM & MARINE-THEMED CAFÉ!

Get ready to dive deep: the highly-anticipated opening of Singapore Oceanarium is nearly here, and here’s your first look at some of the best highlights of Oceanarium before it opens to the public on 24th July 2025! The Oceanarium is 3 times bigger than the former S.E.A Aquarium, with a whopping 22 different zones to explore. There’s brand new zones added to the space, along with refreshed zones too. Read on for some of the highlights of the new attraction and what to expect during your visit.

Giant 36-metre wide aquarium displays & 360-degree viewing panels

There’s several different zones featuring massive viewing panels for creatures like sea jellies, sharks, rays and more. Open Ocean boasts a colossal 36-metre wide viewing panel showcasing over 40,000 marine creatures. Ocean Wonders is one of the world’s largest sea jelly habitats, including a 6.8-metre circular display that’s home to thousands of glowing moon jellies.

Across the whole attraction, you can also expect to see numerous 360-degree tanks, a sunlit shark tunnel where you get to come up close and personal with sharks like the Hammerhead, Sandbar Shark, Sand Tiger shark and more.

Massive larger-than-life marine installations

See realistic replicas of long-extinct sea creatures at Ancient Waters, including a life-sized animatronic Dunkleosteus, an armoured pre-historic creature that could measure over 2 metres in length.

Discover what happens when a giant whale falls to the sea floor in Whale Fall and Sea Mount, where you get to see a replica of a whale’s skeleton, brought to life with immersive projection shows, lighting and soundscapes.

Interactive “petting” zones & hands-on activities

If you’re looking for something a little more active, head to the Spirit of Exploration, where you get to see a life-sized replica of the Jewel of Muscat vessel and even climb or jump around a suspended web play area that mimics life on sea.

The Singapore’s Coast zone features a “petting” and feeding area, where you get to stick your hand in shallow tanks to let sea creatures come to you, or even feed some of them too. Benthos features an interactive touch table where you can create your own fictional digital sea creature and send it out to “sea” to see them projected onscreen.

Marine-themed café & F&B kiosks

There’s a couple of dining options available throughout the entire trail, with the main in-house café being the Explorer’s Nook. Food items start from $3 each, and they’ve got hot mains, bakes, desserts and drinks available; including adorable marine-themed items like steamed buns shaped like various sea animals, star-shaped croissant sandwiches and more.

Some highlights from the menu include Seaweed Madeleine ($3), Sea Animal Cookies ($6), Sea Animal Mantou ($8), Marine Animal Cupcake ($8), Pandan Coconut Croffles ($8.50), Starfish Croissant Sandwich ($12) and more. For quick bites and snacks, stop by the Ocean Bites or Tide Deli food kiosks.

Marine-inspired retail store

Located at the exit is The Singapore Oceanarium Store, a sea-inspired retail section where you can snag some lifestyle goods and Oceanarium merchandise starting from $8. They’ve got items like plushies, keychains, magnets, drinkware and more. There’s also a smaller retail shop called Tidal Trove, located next to the Tide Deli food stop.

Must-see zones & ticketing information

If you’re planning on visiting the Oceanarium, we’d suggest setting aside at least 2 hours for the complete walkthrough, but we reckon sea enthusiasts can easily spend half a day exploring the place in-depth. Some of our favourite zones that you won’t want to miss out on include the Ocean Wonders, Ancient Waters and Open Ocean. Oceanarium is definitely an attraction suited for all ages, and is both visually stunning and highly educational as well.

Tickets to Singapore Oceanarium start from $42 per adult, or $35 per child/senior citizen. For more information or to get your tickets online, see here. Oceanarium officially opens to the public from 24th July 2025 onwards.
