Spice lovers are in for a fiery surprise: Tokyo’s famous Kikanbo ramen chain is finally making their way to Singapore this September 2025! Dubbed as “Tokyo’s best ultimate spicy ramen”, Kikanbo is known for their theatrical showmanship, super spicy ramen bowls and unique “demon” inspired decor.

Kikanbo translates to “demon’s iron club”, with its signature dark colour palette and Oni-themed decor items—monstrous ogre-like characters commonly featured in traditional Japanese folklore. The chain boasts long queues at their stores, and have expanded internationally to cities like Melbourne, Hong Kong and Taiwan.

The ramen chain is famous for their customisable spicy ramen, with spice levels from 1-5, including a “devil” spice level for the truly adventurous. Kikanbo’s signature spicy soup base is made from a concoction of various red peppers, herbs and also Sichuan peppercorns; so you can expect a more mala-esque and numbing taste.

Kikanbo’s Singapore menu should be identical to their Japan stores, with best sellers like the Niku-Niku Karashibi Miso Ramen, Tokusei Karashimi Miso Ramen and Pakuchi Karashibi Miso Ramen—which comes with a heaping serving of chopped coriander. Kikanbo will be opening in Singapore at VivoCity in September 2025.
