YOAJUNG KOREAN FROYO CHAIN OPENS IN SINGAPORE WITH DIY CUPS FROM $3 & OVER 50 TOPPINGS!

Today is the day: the cult-favourite Korean frozen yogurt chain, Yoajung, is finally open in Singapore. If you’re new to the brand, they’re a famous froyo chain with over 600 stores in Korea and around the world, loved by K-Pop idols and celebrities alike.

The first Yoajung store in Singapore is located at *SCAPE, and is a primarily takeaway spot with limited outdoor tables. Yoajung is known for their customizable frozen yogurt cups starting from $3, which you can personalise and add-on your favourite toppings from $1.30 each. Start by choosing your size: Small ($3) or Medium ($5), then pick your sauces and toppings from a selection of over 50 options.

Most of their toppings and sauces are all imported directly from Korea, so you’ll be able to enjoy a variety of toppings you won’t find at any other froyo store in Singapore. Popular toppings at Yoajung have got to be their chocolate shell ($2) that comes in flavours like Chocolate, Strawberry Milk, Mango and Mint. Mint might be a controversial flavour for some—toothpaste, anyone?—but for those who have acquired the taste, this is definitely a must-get. Sweet tooths will like the whole Honeycomb ($7) topping; though this was a little too sweet for us, and for the price, we’d much rather get their other toppings.

For now, Yoajung only offers a single plain frozen yogurt flavour; which has a subtle tartness and tastes pretty similar to other plain froyo flavours in the market. What really makes Yoajung stand out are undeniably their toppings. Some of our favourite toppings that we haven’t seen in other froyo shops are their Mochi Cubes ($2), which has an aromatic brown sugar flavour; and their Rainbow Pop ($1.50), which are essentially dried marshmallows—think Lucky Charms without the cereal, only the marshmallows.

Other unique toppings you can get at Yoajung are Dalgona Candy, Pop Pop Candy, Cube Cheese Cake, Condensed Milk, Brown Rice Crunch, Oreo O’s Cereal, Maltesers and more. Of course, you’ll also be able to get a selection of fresh fruit toppings: like Strawberry, Shine Muscat Grapes, Kiwi, Mango, Dragonfruit, Orange, Banana and Melon, just to name a few. Aside from froyo, Yoajung also offers acai bowls/cups (from $8), which you can also top with your choice of add-ons like Chia Pudding, Peanut Butter, Honey Stick and more. The acai itself is pretty decent, but for us, we’d probably stick with their best-selling froyo instead.

If you’re looking for a froyo fix in town, Yoajung will probably do the trick; and is a great option if you’re not prepared to queue for the (still) ultra-hyped Yo-Chi froyo at Orchard Central.
