Westies, your latest café hangout has just landed: there’s a stunning new glasshouse café in Jurong, with rustic Japandi vibes, a pet-friendly space and brunch plates from $13.50!

Van Kafé is the latest café opening in the West, located within Jurong Play Grounds (JPG). The space is opened by an interior design firm, and it really does show in their aesthetic: with wood furniture that’s all made in-house, and a gorgeous glasshouse-esque indoor space that looks amazing when the natural light streams in during the day.

Cauliflower & Chickpea Stew, $23.80

Swedish Meatballs, $17.60
The menu is mostly Asian-focussed, but with a contemporary flair; and we’re told that they make nearly everything on the menu in-house, from scratch. You’ll be able to get small plates to share, brunch mains, desserts and more, with dishes starting from $13.50 each. Their Cauliflower & Chickpea Stew ($23.80) was well executed; essentially a roasted cauliflower steak served on a bed of chickpea stew. The tomato-based stew itself was very hearty and satisfying, with 2 contrasting textures of both stewed and fried chickpeas for a more interesting mouthfeel.

Mushroom Croquettes, $13.60

Profiteroles, $11.90
For starters, you can try their Mushroom Croquettes ($13.60), which were bite-sized mushroom-stuffed and breaded fried balls that had a pretty intense truffle aroma. Other highlights from the menu include Prawn Toast ($14.80), Sake Steamed Clams ($16.40), Gravlax ($18.70), Fish & Chip ($37.50) and more.

@shout.sg There’s a new glasshouse Japandi-style café in the West: think stunning showroom-esque interiors with soothing wood accents, modern brunch mains and sharing dishes from $13.50 and a pet-friendly outdoor space! Van Kafé Address:2 Jurong Gateway Rd, 01-02, Singapore 608512
Their outdoor area is also pet-friendly, so feel free to bring along your furry friends for brunch or dinner. On average, we’d say dishes here are priced a little on the higher side, with mains costing about $25 to $35 each; though the dishes were quite well done across the board. We probably won’t make the trip down specifically for this café, unless we were looking for a more quiet spot during the weekday. If you’re a Westie, or you’re heading to Jurong Play Grounds over the weekend for pickleball or a day out with your pets, definitely stop by Van Kafé to enjoy their relaxing vibes and quality eats.
