1. The GogiJip

This Tanjong Pagar restaurant is probably the most popular place in Singapore for raw marinated crabs—ganjang gejang or yangnyeom gejang in Korean—and they’re known for serving the popular and elusive Korean delicacy at incredibly affordable prices. The GogiJip’s raw marinated crab set lunches start from a pocket-friendly $24 for their Yangnyeom Gejang (spicy raw crabs) and $29 for the Ganjang Gejang (soy sauce marinated raw crabs).

With the set you don’t just get the raw marinated crabs, you also get a generous spread that includes a stew of the day, seasonal Korean side dishes, Korean pancake and of course, a bowl of steaming white rice to pair with the super umami raw crabs! The GogiJip’s raw marinated crab lunch sets are available daily from 12pm-2.30pm. The GogiJip also serves a variety of KBBQ meats like Iberico Pork, Black Pork, Fresh Ribs, Beef Striploin and more.

2. Daejim

Daejim is a new KBBQ joint in Tanjong Pagar with an industrial pojangmacha (tent or street stall in Korea) vibe, for a more casual and laid-back dining experience. The restaurant offers quality cuts of meat and fresh seafood that’s been air-flown from Korea. Seafood options include half-shell scallops, live abalone, octopus and oysters. For raw items, Daejim boasts the trendy soy marinated raw crab, Ganjang Gejang ($40); as well as raw prawns, Ganjang Saewoo ($35) and Beef Tartare ($35).

The restaurant also doubles as a bar, so you can definitely count on their extensive selection of cocktails and alcoholic drinks to pair with your KBBQ! Aside from the usual soju and beer, go for one of their Soju Cocktails ($18); or try their specialty drink, the Honeycomb Makgeolli ($38)—a sweeter and more drinkable version of the traditional Korean rice wine.

3. Badam

This is an authentic Korean restaurant specialising in seafood and sashimi for when you’re missing Busan! If you love raw seafood, this is the place to go as they offer giant sashimi platters, raw seafood like prawns, abalone, octopus, sea squirt, and more! The restaurant also serves the elusive Ganjang Gejang ($50) and if you get their sashimi sets, you’ll be treated to a wide array of sides on rotation such as Spicy Braised Radish, Soy Braised Potatoes, Scallion Pancakes, Seaweed Soup with Beef and more!

If raw or live (and moving) seafood makes you squeamish, not to worry—Badam also has options for the less adventurous. Their sets also come with a couple of cooked items like grilled corn cheese, grilled prawns, pumpkin as well as a big pot of Maeuntang (spicy fish stew). 4. KKO KKO NA RA

KKO KKO NA RA is an OG Korean fried chicken specialty restaurant in Singapore, having been frying up authentic fried chicken since 2008. Sandwiched between the other rows of Korean restaurants along the streets of Tanjong Pagar, KKO KKO NA RA is also one of the few Korean restaurants in Singapore to offer raw marinated crab! Get their Ganjang Gejang in a Small ($75) or Medium ($85) portion, or spice it up with their Yangnyeom Gejang ($48) instead!

This is possibly the cheapest place to get your raw marinated crab fix in Singapore: Guiga Korean BBQ Restaurant has affordable lunch sets with raw crab for just $20! These pocket-friendly lunch sets come with your choice of soup (Kimchi Stew or Bean Paste Stew), 1 crab and rice—perfect for if you’re just looking to get a taste of raw crab.

7. Shopee

Shopee has pretty much everything you can imagine, so it’s no surprise that they even sell raw marinated crabs so you can have an authentic raw crab experience right in the comfort of your own home! These raw marinated crabs are sold by Market Blue on Shopee, and come in both the Ganjang Gejang and Yangnyeom Gejang versions.

The raw crabs come uncut and neatly packaged in 300g or 545g portions. Currently, the Market Blue shop carries raw cut Korean Swimming Crab in 542g ($16.90; UP. $21.90) or Korean Crab Marinated in Spicy Sauce in 300g ($16.90; UP. $21.90) and you can get them on Shopee here.
