Candour Coffee

The newest addition to the bustling cafe scene in Singapore, Candour Coffee prides itself in the quality and fine selection of their coffee and tea. Opened just a week ago by two long-time secondary school friends Ong Shi Chun and Jet Goh, the 22-seater cafe serves up an array of beverages from quality coffee roaster Market Lane Coffee, as well as tea from Man Cha Teas.

Located in the heart of Clarke Quay where many backpackers and tourists thrive, the service-centric team behind the cafe specially installed USB multi-sockets for each and every seat in the cafe with the convenience of these city-dwellers in mind.

Currently serving only beverages and desserts such as waffles and cake (SGD $6.90++), the cafe is planning to launch their finalised food menu in June where a number of dishes such as Truffle Mushroom Cheese Sandwich and Open-Faced Tomato and Prosciutto Sandwich (pictured below).

Milky Oolong Tea (SGD $8.50 per pot)
The milky oolong tea, a product of Hong Kong’s independent tea purveyor Man Cha Teas, is one of the more popular options in this cafe. The unique brew has also won this product a three-star in Great Taste Awards 2015.

Truffle Mushroom Cheese Sandwich (Price: TBA)
This vegan sandwich comprises of rocket leaves, sauté button mushrooms with truffle oil, mozzarella cheese, garlic mayonnaise and is served on toasted sourdough bread.

Open-Faced Tomato and Prosciutto Sandwich (Price: TBA)
Derived from prosciutto ham pizzas, the open-faced sandwich features ciabatta bread as the base, and is topped with a generous serving of prosciutto ham, basil leaves, as well as fresh vine tomatoes imported from Holland.

Waffles with Ice Cream (Price: TBA)
The fluffy buttermilk waffles comes with berries as well as two small scoops of ice cream of your choice. The classic yet decadent dessert is topped with a drizzle of salted caramel sauce.
