We know you’ve been waiting for the opening of Ice Magic: The Great Fantasy on Ice for as long as we have so we’re here to tell you all you need to know about this magical winter wonderland! On top of the list is probably the star of the whole show: a colossal snow slope standing at a whopping 70-metres tall!
This is the longest and tallest snow slope ever constructed in Singapore, and is probably the closest you’ll ever come to skiing in here, so knock yourself out and slide down the slope as many times as you want!
If you’ve never experienced real snow before, here’s your chance to do so as Olympic-standard snow-making machines have been specially brought in so you can touch and feel real, fluffy, fresh snow that rivals even the natural snow found in wintering countries! Have fun building snowmans, making snow angels, having snowball fights, bouncing off “snow clouds” and more!
Head over to the Ice Section for some never-before-seen attractions and activities like a 260 square metre ice cycling rink where you can cycle on top of solid ice on single or tandem bikes! We imagine this would make the perfect romantic bonding activity for snuggling up to your S/O or date this Christmas.
There will also be a 4.5-metre high figure-8 Ice Slide constructed out of pure ice, so all you thrill-seekers can anjoy the rush of zipping down. Note that the slide can only accommodate 1 person at a time, so be prepared to wait your turn! As you slide down, take a moment to appreciate all the intricate ice sculptures painstakingly created by master ice sculptors from Harbin, China—they make really great IG moments too!
For some fun winter activities, head over to the ice bowling section to challenge your friends or try your hand at a physics-defying Olympic sport—ice curling (also known as “ice chess”)!
You won’t have to worry about going hungry or thirsty at Ice Magic, there will be an Ice Bar on-site serving up icy cold beers and bespoke ice-themed cocktails. If you’re feeling chilly, pop over to the Chocolate Origin Pop-up Café for some toasty hot chocolate and festive chocolate desserts. There will also be comforting winter food like rosti, croquettes, roasted sweet potatoes and more!
Since Ice Magic is the largest winter-themed attraction to ever land in Singapore, you can expect it to get very very cold, especially for most of us who are used to a more sunny, tropical climate. Temperatures at Ice Magic can drop to -15 degrees celsius—practically winter weather—so make sure to come prepared bundled up in your winter wear and gear: padded jackets, gloves, beanies, all the works. If you’re sensitive to the cold you might even want to whip out the HEATTECH. There will be snow boots and winter jackets available for rental, but it’s best to bring your own if you want to avoid queuing. For your own safety, you’re encouraged to change into the appropriate snow boots instead of wearing your own footwear.
There are 3 sessions for Ice Magic, and doors open for each session at 10am, 3pm and 7pm; with each session running for 4 hours each. Tickets to Ice Magic: The Great Fantasy start at $25 and you can get them here.
