For those who aren’t too familiar with the dish: think of dakdoritang as a kind of spicy chicken stew—tender chicken chunks braised in a gochugaru (Korean chilli flakes) and gochujang (Korean chilli paste)-laced chicken broth, along with vegetables and potato chunks. Kelim’s dakdoritang is served hotpot-style on gas stoves at the table, so you get to enjoy a bubbling hot pot of chicken throughout your meal.

You can also opt to carb it up by adding various sali (noodles) into your pot, such as handmade knife-cut noodles, udon, ramen, and rice cakes. What makes Kelim’s dakdoritang different from others is the addition of a mega dollop of freshly-minced garlic, to give you that extra spicy, pungent and garlicky kick that garlic lovers will enjoy.

At the end of your meal, make sure to save some soup to make some Korean-style “dessert”: some freshly-made fried rice. Kelim Dakdoritang’s Singapore menu has yet to be released, but expect to pay around $36 for a pot of stew good for 2 to 3 people.
