Tendon (short for Tempura Donburi) is not what first comes to mind when one thinks of Japanese cuisine – it is often overlooked for Ramen, the ever pleasing-to-the-eye Bara Chirashi Don, or sushi. The humble tendon is basically a bowl of glistening Japanese rice covered with deep fried tempura and could be drizzled with a light soy dressing or have the sauce served by the side. If you’re looking for a new Japanese dish to try, we have sourced out several places that serve up light and crisp tempura goodness.
