Your favourite immersive and interactive digital art gallery has just gotten a brand new revamp! The Future World exhibition is undoubtedly the most popular and visited exhibition at ArtScience Museum for its Instagrammable and psychedelic projections and installations, and it just got even better with this brand new transformation that was unveiled just a couple days ago!
Like the rest of Future World, the refreshed artworks are created in collaboration with the brilliant team at teamLab, with 3 new sensorial and IG-worthy additions to the beloved exhibition:
1. Autonomous Abstraction Continuous Phenomena from the Universe to the Self
This interactive digital installation is always a hot-favourite at the Future World exhibitions, with countless photos and videos on social media of visitors posing with the floral waterfall cascading around them as they play around with the projections on the screen. With the refresh, gone are the flowers and blooms and instead you have countless vibrantly coloured dots that react, synchronise and change colours when touched.
These psychedelic dots not only blink and change hue, they also emit tones every time they blink, creating continuous music-like sounds throughout the space. The entire installation resembles swarms of colourful fireflies swarming around you, and is sure to make absolutely stunning OOTDs!
2. Aerial Climbing Through a Flock of Colored Birds
This is an interactive installation that you can actually play with and is perfect for all ages! In this space, countless coloured horizontal bars are suspended by ropes and float in the air. Play around by climbing across the bars: watch and listen as each bar shines and produces a sound when stepped on, so the more people there are on the bars, you’ll end up hearing a cacophony of sounds!
The bars are also linked, so each movement will affect other bars differently to create one-of-a-kind sounds! While you’re frolicking across the bars, there will be flocks of coloured birds rendered on the walls in real-time, making it feel as if you’re flying in the sky!
3. Sketch Flight
Unleash your creativity and artistic skills by sketching your favourite flying object or animal: like a bird, plane or butterfly, and watch as the image appears 3-dimensionally on the screen, flying around the imaginary world before you! Touch them and they will even speed up or fly away!
You can even control the image you created via a tablet, which will let you see the world from the eyes of the object or creature itself! From the tablet, you’ll be able to see the world in front, beside and behind you as well, zooming into places you want to see as you zip by!
Tickets for Future World start from $18 per adult, with discounts for Marina Bay Sands members and ArtScience Friends; and you can buy your tickets here.
Marina Bay Sands’ Digital Light Canvas within The Shoppes has also gotten a facelift with the new Graffiti Nature and Sketch Factory. Be awed by a giant circular digital canvas and a column of shimmering crystal beads suspended from the ceiling that together create gorgeous and mesmerising shapes and formations using unique 4D technology.
Here, you’ll also be able to sketch your very own creature and watch as they are released onto the digital canvas’ ecosystem and interact organically with other creatures! If you love your drawing too much to let it go, you can even choose to have it printed on a piece of merchandise like a badge, tote bag or t-shirt and bring your art home with you!
